SUMMER RESULTS 2010

At home to Kirby Bedon A in our last game of the summer and needing to score points to ease the relegation threat from the first division, the team duly obliged and we drew 4-4 57-54.

Again it could have been 6-2 as one block in the second half only lost by 1 shot.

Away to KIrby Bedon A we lost 8-0 76-33

At home to Kirby Bedon B we were pleased to draw 4-4 52-56 although it nearly was a 6-2 win for us as one block were tying with one end to play but with the last wood just overran the jack and a dropped 2 gave the visitors a win.

At home to Framingham Earl we drew 4-4 63-53

At home to Thorpe Marriott we had a very pleasing win 6-2 65-49.

As we had a close game at home to Bob Carter we were looking to do the same away to them. But it was not to be although we started well Bob Carter soon showed their dominance on their own mats and we lost 8-0 90-31

Another game at home saw us against the league leaders Bob Carter, in which we lost 8-0 60-47. There were times when it did look like we could cause an upset, but Bob Carter to their credit stepped up a gear or two and preserved their unbeaten record.

At last a home game and looking for revenge against Wymondham, we got it 6-2 46-61 the first half saw two very exciting games which we won and so were at least assured of a draw. The second half, in which the home team swap mats, saw a mixed result one block winning the other going down heavily to a rampant Wymondham block 33-1 which left our block disheartened as they had played so well in the first half but all credit to the Wymondam block as they never let up on their relentless task. Still a win 6-2 is very good for the club. If this had been any other league where shots are counted then we would have lost.

Our Fourth game away and the third game of the league saw us win at Framingham Earl

5-3 57-49.

Away to Kirby Bedon B the team fared slightly better than to Wymondham losing 6-2 65-41

Away to Thurton in the Summer cup, it was not to be third time lucky, as we lost 4-4 61-55 on shots. With 4 ends to go we were 4 shots up on the match but at the finish we were drawing on shots and so had to play extra ends on both mats, which Thurton dominated. So we go to Kirby Bedon on Friday still looking for our first win of the season.

Away to Wymondham we lost 8-0 61-32 shots

Our first game in the summer was away to Thorpe Marriott we drew 4-4 66-59 shots.
