Named for its' distance from all the other northern towns, this town has a very large percentage of half-orcs. Most migrate from the Hastati Swamps and the wild tribes nearby, or leave their full-blood brethren in the Beasthills.
This small town has a high number of humans from the culturally distinct southern region of former Harithma (now the Southern Province of the Empire) in it, and is thus culturally distinct from most of the other towns. Reinstadt has several proud traditions carried from its' peoples' homelands, including (but not limited to): traditional sausage-making, an annual beer festival at the start of winter called Winterfest, and an awful sense of humor.
This town naturally evolved around a large trading post that was situated in a cleared field equidistant from the lake and ocean. Fishermen coming from the ocean sell their wares here, which then flow out to other markets in the region or towards wealthier regions down south. This naturally leads to a healthy trade economy that is the envy of all other northern towns.
Everwinter is a small island just off the coast of Westlake. It earned its' name and reputation through the constant snowfall and strangely isolated blizzards that frequent the island and the island alone. Brave miners and scholars will settle here, looking for rare metals, rare species, or attempting to discover the source of the weather. In addition to the horrible weather, the island houses many strange and dangerous species that have no qualms about attacking and eating anyone wandering on their own.
Midtown is the central hub of the entire region. It sits on the crossroads of all the northern routes and as a result, has an high number of markets and inns to accommodate all of the traders and tourists passing through. Midtown is the largest city in the north by population.
The final rest stop before ascending the mountain to Odin's Gate is a small town by the name of Odin's Rest. The town is relatively poor and, prior to the Cataclysm, existed mainly to supply the Seekers of the Key and the traders who hope to do business with the order. Odin's Rest has a large, very beautifully designed temple to Odin that attracts visitors all on its' own. These days, the temple is marketed more as a cultural artifact, as opposed to a religious one, to avoid provoking the wrath of the Inquisition. The temple is one of the oldest buildings on the continent and a mighty testament to ancient construction, having been built entirely of wood and earth.
