Senate Chambers (in Tretaria): Before the Empire, King Gaius had ruled Harithma and a small portion of the adjoining Beasthills. After his disappearance, his palace became the Senate building by order of the Emperor. The estate is a large, fenced in property with beautifully maintained gardens and a relatively modest 2-story home. The ballroom has been converted to a Meeting Chamber for Senate deliberations, and the bedrooms, sitting rooms, and dining rooms have been converted to offices or conference rooms for the senators.
Hastati: This dangerous village, primarily populated with half-orcs, is the main producer of Allspice. The fantastic plant only grows in the northern swamps, and is worth twice its' weight in gold. Allspice plantations are immensely profitable, at least they would be if the swamp wasn't attempting to kill everyone in it. Between enormous insects, the occasional troll, monstrous swamp denizens like Bullywogs, and the occasional raid from the Ironbarks, the plantations spend quite a bit on security and workers. Half-orc laborers are in high demand (being naturally tougher and stronger) to take care of the growing and tending of the plants, but some farmers will resort to enslaving Bullywogs, since they are highly resistant to the diseases and poisons of the region. This practice is technically illegal, but bribes and loopholes keep the practice alive in the north.
Dragonbridge: This town is only the 4th most populous in the region, but it is the 2nd wealthiest city behind the Capital itself. Going on a per-person basis, it would be the wealthiest city on the continent. The land around this city is quite rich with gemstones and precious metals, which the founding families used to build their original wealth untold years ago. Many of the citizens in the town nowadays are wealthy through other means, such as owning trading companies, plantations, or simple real-estate. Because of this, the town is incredibly expensive to live in though highly desirable.
Giant's Toe Mine: This naturally occurring cave earned its' name when the founders of Dragonbridge stumbled upon a huge emerald inside that a worker compared to the size of a giant's big toe. Digging further and further past the natural cave walls, this mine continues to produce precious gemstones for the family that owns it.
St. Benton: This is the 3rd most populous city in Harithma. It is of average wealth, with most of the goods traded here being lumber, lavender for dyes, and mercenaries. The most abundant export is mercenaries, as this city houses the primary training base for the Legion. Washouts usually are perfectly capable of acting as mercenaries, having only failed their training due to academics or small health issues. A large portion of the city is dedicated to the sprawling barracks and the attached large fortress that sits between the city and the Beasthills. Orcs are frequently used as live training, encountered either during patrol or during the Orc's frequent raids on the surrounding land. Many of the commonfolk of the town work for the Legion in one way or another; there are many blacksmiths making weapons and armor, leatherworkers making shoes and gloves, tailors designing warm clothes for those stationed in the north, fletchers creating spears, bows, and arrows, artificers creating advanced defensive gear, and so on.
Lake Century: Not counting the enormous three lakes in the frozen north, Century is the largest lake in Feredas. Dozens of barges are created here every day, to be sent down the river towards Tretaria delivering supplies and personnel on the cheap. It has become harder and harder to fish the lake on a large scale due to over-fishing, but the occasional fisherman can catch a salmon or two to feed himself and his family. A few galleys are stationed in the lake and are used as naval practice for the naval branch of the Legion, by either performing mock battles on the lake or sailing up and down the river. Despite the relative closeness of the hordes of monsters in the Beasthills, very few people are actually killed by them in St. Benton proper. The ones that are killed either wandered into the hills alone for whichever reason or were living east of the fort outside of its' protections (and outside heavy Imperial presence).
Folly's Reach: So named due to the utter emptiness of the inhospitable fortress at the top, the mountain situated here seems to have survived some sort of great event, as it is now sitting alone in the midst of the lower foothills of Harithma. On top of the mountain is an ancient fortress, still littered with frozen bones and smashed furniture. This fortress is the site of the Third Nexus, part of the Legend of the Cataclysm. Only a few people will risk making a pilgrimage to the top in order to run the Gauntlet of Eternity, a multi-legged journey that follows the footsteps of the original Shield of Morrow, the saviors of Feredas during the Cataclysm. Those few that are strong enough to make it to the fortress can take shelter inside to avoid the freezing wind, before continuing on to the peak of the mountain where the Nexus lies.
Trittan: Strangely, this town seems to have been plopped right in the middle of Spiderrun forest. Even more strangely, the people who live in this poor, sparsely populated city don't leave. Rumors abound about this tiny, depressing town, some saying that it is haunted with the souls of everyone who died within the forest, claims that everyone there is actually a ghost, claims that the town is secretly a breeding ground for shapeshifting spiders that look like humans, all the way up to rumors of the town not even actually existing, and the whole thing being a plot by extradimensional beings to feed on peoples' thoughts. Regardless, the town is a small, bleak place that barely survives on its' lumber trade. There are a few who venture into the forest for valuable native mushrooms and herbs, and are able to make a decent living doing so. Whether through a curse or poor design, the town is positioned so that it doesn't even get to take advantage of the heavy traffic on the Imperial Highway, since it actually sits too far away to be easily accessed. To the towns dismay, even the Imperial Rail skipped over it and the closest stop is almost a day away.
Villages north of Tretaria: The Golden Valley lies between the Hastati Swamps and the Oculatus River and serves as the primary breadbasket of much of the Empre. The valley is named more for the vast fields of wheat than any literal gold. The land is almost supernaturally flat with rich soil, making almost every inch of the valley valuable farmland. The region was named back when mostly wheat was grown, but with the Altering and subsequent Manastorms crops have been harder to predict. The numerous villages and towns scattered throughout this region are surprisingly wealthy, making a steady income thanks to the high volume of crops the Empire consumes.
Spiderrun Forest: If Trittan is considered creepy by the commonfolk, then Spiderrun is downright terrifying. The woods are primeval, with the true age of much of it unknown. The canopy is incredibly thick, casting the forest floor into perpetual twilight, allowing only the most exotic or resilient life to flourish. Giant spiders, wild goblin-infested caves, and evil treants call this ancient wood home. The forest floor is nearly lightless, allowing mushrooms and moss to carpet much of the area. The entire forest is dim and hostile, but possesses a haunting, almost alien sort of beauty. Most of the trees here are light and grow at odd angles, making them unsuitable for most building. The Empire attempted to utilize the vast wood resources for shipbuilding but found that the wood tends to crumble and rot mere days after it is cut down, regardless of any sort of treatment or waterproofing.
