Making a Takhumon
A Takhumon is a Voodoo God. They are created through a process of soul collecting, mummification, hibernation, and rebirth. The process of becoming a Takhumon is lengthy. It begins by simply becoming a Voodoo priest, transforming your soul into a receptacle through a ritual sacrifice. If a priest desires to become a Takhumon he must begin binding these "umbra," the souls killed using voodoo rituals, to their souls; rather than storing them to use later. Once they have filled their souls sufficiently, they take part in a lengthy ritual in which they are wrapped in cloth and mummified after being "killed" with a sacred dagger. They spend several years as mummies within a large pyramid rigged with traps and undead guards. If they are disturbed they will defend themselves, and may not be able to return to their hibernation. After their time in hibernation is over, they become Takhumon.
