Summary: Dues For The Dead

Ok, so I was originally going to do a prose narration of Clan Slayer's story, but I just don't have the time. So instead, I'll treat this as a kind of game diary, where I chart Clan Slayer's progress.

His first adventure was, obviously, Dues for the Dead. I joined a game already in progress, along with another player, and so the DM incorporated us into the game by having the god of death, Kelemvor, summon us to holy duty to stop whatever was creating undead in the town cemetery (the narrative for which you can find in my previous post). Upon his arrival he found a group of adventurers already in the catacombs.

Together he and his new party expelled a trio of looters from the catacombs without their ill-gotten booty (and their clothes; one of the party members was out to teach them a lesson) and we put all of the loot back. We then explored the catacombs, fought quite a few skeletons, and finally found the necromancer and his three minions. Clan Slayer managed to seriously wound the necromancer before the fiend escaped, and was able to land the killing blow on the toughest of the three minions. We thus cleared the catacombs of evil influence.

I began this adventure at Level One and was awarded 450 XP, enough to advance to Level Two. I took the Archery fighting style, and with my new Spellcasting ability learned Cure Wound and Hunter's Mark.

During my downtime, I traded in my longbow for a heavy crossbow (with a swap of all relevant paraphernalia). I also bought some bagpipes. Since I live off the land and have Survival proficiency, I led a Comfortable lifestyle during my 5 days of downtime. I spent some of that researching Kelemvor and the mystic pool the necromancer was trying to uncover, trying to discern whom would want that pool reopened.

I should be able to game again next week. What further adventures await Clan Slayer?
