Doamna MARIA CIOBANU s-a născut în satul Hătăroaia din comuna Roşiile, judeţul Vâlcea, România, pe 3 septembrie 1937, într-o frumoasă zi de vineri, toamna, la început de sfârşit de săptămână, parcă prevestind voioşia ce avea s-o aducă românilor, fiind astfel prima în inima acestora pentru totdeauna!!!
Puţini oameni cunosc faptul că „Ciocârlia” dragă a României a avut un frate geamăn - însă, din nefericire, el a plecat prea devreme dintre noi, la vârsta de 5 ani.

Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU was born in Hătăroaia Village, Roşiile Township, Vâlcea County, Romania, on September 3rd, 1937, on a beautiful Friday autumn day - when weekend starts, somehow foretelling the cheerfulness that she will bring to Romanians, being the first in their hearts forever!!!
A few people know the fact that the dear ”Skylark” of Romania had a twin brother - but, unfortunately, he left us to early, at the age of 5.
