Aşadar, vocea „Ciocârliei” îşi găsise locul chiar la Ansamblul Ciocârlia, după ce nu fusese admisă - în decembrie 1961 - la Ansamblul Barbu Lăutarul din cauza intervenţiei Mariei Tănase care venise cu o cunoştinţă să o angajeze...

Un membru din juriul primului Concurs naţional al interpreţilor profesionişti de muzică populară - în cadrul primei ediţii desfăşurate în anul 1977, la care doamna MARIA CIOBANU a câştigat premiul întâi - a declarat: „Nu e glas, e forţă a naturii, e un miracol. I-aţi ascultat trilurile «Ciocârliei»? Sunt neomeneşti, sunt chiar de pasăre a cerului!”.

Nu este o surpriză faptul că şi la a doua ediţie desfăşurată în anul 1979, încă o dată, doamna MARIA CIOBANU a câştigat locul întâi - dând dovadă că este şi rămâne cea mai bună voce la categoria interpreţi profesionişti de muzică populară!

Un alt cronicar, scria demult: „Am văzut-o pe MARIA CIOBANU... pe scene unde vocea ei s-a distins grabnic peste toate celelalte!”.

Angela Moldovan scria, la sfârşitul anilor '80, în cartea sa „O lume în cântec”: „Pentru că mi-a venit în minte un exemplu grăitor de ce înseamnă consecvenţă şi ataşare loială faţă de folclorul unei zone geografice iubite, o voi aminti pe MARIA CIOBANU care rămâne credincioasă Gorjului, sonorităţilor sale specifice şi poeziei care le însoţeşte. Să ştiţi că nu e uşor pentru un interpret profesionist să reziste tentaţiei tot mai agresive de a-şi adapta repertoriul după cum e «moda» şi să se lupte cu influenţele din jur pentru a-şi păstra personalitatea. Să nu te laşi «furat» de imitaţie, este un merit incontestabil!”.

Unul dintre cei mai mari muzicieni ai acestei naţiuni, George Enescu, a spus că: „Menirea sfântă a muzicii este să stingă urile, să potolească patimile şi să unească inimile într-o caldă înfrăţire.”. Aşadar, scopul oricărui interpret şi creator e de a face aceste lucruri posibile, numai dacă inima celui în cauză e curată...

În aceste prea puţine cuvinte simple - dar măreţe - izvorâte din inima mea pură de român, a altor câtorva citaţi aici, precum şi a milioanelor de adevăraţi admiratori ai folclorului autentic, se conturează un om remarcabil şi, în acelaşi timp, simplu care nu şi-a uitat niciodată originile şi modestia: d-na MARIA CIOBANU!!!

Cele trei vlăstare ale sale - Liliana CIOBANU (cunoscută şi ca Leontina Văduva), Camelia CIOBANU şi Ionuţ Dolănescu - îi moştenesc talentul!

So, the voice of the ”Skylark” found her place right at Ciocârlia Ensemble, after not being admitted - in December 1961 - to Barbu Lăutarul Ensemble because of Maria Tănase interference to bring an acquaintance and hire her...

A member of the jury in the Professional Folklore Music Singers National Contest - at the first edition that took place in 1977, where Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU won first prize - he declared: ”It's not a voice, it's a force of nature, a miracle. Have you listened to her 'Skylark' warble? They're not earthly, they're really of heavenly bird!”.

There's no surprise that, at the second edition that took place in 1979, once more, Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU won the first place - proving that she is and she will always be the best voice in the Professional folklore music singers category!

Other journalist, wrote long ago: ”I've seen MARIA CIOBANU... on stages where her voice was outstanding over all the others!”.

Angela Moldovan wrote, in the late 80's, in her book ”A world in music”: ”Because it came to my mind an eloquent example of what consistency and loyal attachment to the folklore from a dear geographic zone means, I'll mention MARIA CIOBANU who remains faithful to Gorj county, its specific sonority and poetry that accompany it. You know, it's not easy for a professional singer to resist to the more aggressive temptation to adapt its own repertoire according to 'the trend', and to fight with the influences from around to keep its personality. To not let yourself 'taken away' by imitation, it's an indubitable merit!”

One of the biggest musician of this nation, George Enescu, said that: „The sacred vocation of music it's to extinguish hatreds, to temper the passions and to unify hearts in a warming union.” So, the purpose of any singer and creator is to make these things possible, only if that person's heart is clean...

In these very few simple words - but majestic - springing from my pure Romanian heart, of a few others quoted here, and also of millions of true admirers of authentic folklore, stand out a remarkable person, and, in the same time, simple, who never forgot its origins and modesty: Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU!!!

Her three offspring - Liliana CIOBANU (also known as Leontina Văduva), Camelia CIOBANU and Ionuţ Dolănescu - inherit her talent!

Liliana CIOBANU este cea mai de seamă urmaşă a vreunui(ei) interpret(e) din România, semănând atât la chip cât şi la glas izbitor de mult cu mama sa!!! Datorită acestui fapt, ea a decis să îmbrăţişeze genul muzicii clasice, devenind una dintre marile voci ale muzicii de operă în întreaga lume!

Camelia CIOBANU este sora mai mică şi, deci, singura dintre fete care calcă pe urmele mamei sale, interpretând muzică populară dar, din nefericire, extrem de rar...

Ionuţ Dolănescu este mezinul dintre cei trei, cât şi odorul mamei - singurul băiat, pe care doamna MARIA CIOBANU şi l-a dorit enorm! Tatăl său este Ion Dolănescu, cel mai bun interpret de muzică populară la categoria bărbaţi. Acesta a cântat în duet cu doamna MARIA CIOBANU din decembrie 1968 (spectacolul Tv de Revelion) până în 9 mai 1974 - lucru ce i-a adus acestuia o mare notorietate - iar apoi, după 30 de ani, au mai cântat din 31 ianuarie 2004 până în 22 iunie 2008, datorită dorinţei arzătoare a lui Ionuţ către amândoi de a-i vedea cântând din nou împreună!

Cuplul MARIA CIOBANU - Ion Dolănescu rămâne, fără doar şi poate, cel mai iubit duet din muzica populară românească, ca dovadă stă și momentul de la renumitul festivalul internaţional „Cerbul de Aur” unde s-a strâns lume din toată ţara să-i vadă pe cei doi monştri sacri ai folclorului, dar şi momentul când zeci de mii de oameni care au asistat la nunta lor din 1971, caz nemaiîntâlnit în România şi neegalat nici până în prezent - iar lista poate continua!

Liliana CIOBANU is the most worthy descendant of any performer in Romania, strikingly resembling her face and her voice with her mother!!! Because of this, she decided to embrace the classical music genre, becoming one of the great voices of opera music in the whole world!

Camelia CIOBANU is the younger sister and, therefore, the only girl who follows in her mother's footsteps, performing folklore music but, unfortunately, extremely rarely...

Ionuţ Dolănescu is the youngest of the three, as well as mother's favorite - the only boy, that Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU really wanted! His father is Ion Dolănescu, the best folklore music singer in the men's category. He sang in duet with Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU from December 1968 (New Year's Eve TV show) until May 9, 1974 - which brought him great notoriety - and then, after 30 years, they sang from January 31, 2004 until June 22, 2008, thanks to Ionuţ's burning desire to both of them to see them singing together once again!

The couple MARIA CIOBANU - Ion Dolănescu remains, and there's no doubt about it, the most beloved duet in Romanian folklore music, as an evidence is the moment from the famous international festival ”Golden Stag”, where people from all over the country gathered to see the two folklore sacred idols, but also the moment when thousands of people attended their wedding in 1971, a case never seen before in Romania and unmatched even today - and the list goes on!

Aşadar, din 1961 până în prezent s-a bucurat de obţinerea multor premii (şi numai locul I), de aprecierile criticilor dar, cel mai important, de admiraţia publicului, fiind răsplătită din plin cu aplauze, flori şi ovaţii. A concertat pe mari scene din ţară, dar şi în cătune uitate de lume. A efectuat turnee şi în străinătate, demonstrând prin trilurile sale de „Ciocârlie” frumuseţea şi puterea care există în versul popular românesc!

La spectacolul aniversar din 14 august 2004, dumneaei a cântat numai cu cei trei copii, arătând - fără să vrea - că este singura voce a României, şi nu numai, care a putut da lumii 3 voci, una mai frumoasă ca cealaltă, şi că poate realiza un spectacol de familie - spectacol care va rămâne cel mai frumos dintre câte au fost - şi cântat pe viu 100% în comparaţie cu ale altor interpreţi români care au cântat... pe bandă la spectacolele aniversare, spre ruşinea lor, cât şi în batjocura fanilor.

„Mărie, Mărie; Lie, «Ciocârlie»!”, căci aşa s-a numit acel grandios spectacol aniversar, a fost o incursiune prin toată cariera de aur a doamnei MARIA CIOBANU, bucurând fanii mai tineri care nu au avut ocazia să asculte cântecele interpretate la momentul creării lor în anii '60, '70 sau'80, chiar '90! Şi astfel, „Ciocârlia” s-a dăruit, în totalitate, publicului - cu bunul simţ ce o caracterizează - oferind un recital de peste 3 ore pe viu, din dragoste şi respect pentru cântul popular şi pentru publicul său inimos!

Interesant este faptul că adevăraţii fani ai d-nei MARIA CIOBANU ascultă rar ori cu greu şi alţi cântăreţi - dar, chiar şi atunci, numai pe cei care au voce şi un repertoriu autentic. De ce? Datorită calităţilor excepţionale nemaîntâlnite ale „Ciocârliei”, căci nici o altă interpretă nu va putea să ajungă la o asemenea performanţă! Totuşi, un lucru este cert, glasul de aur al d-nei MARIA CIOBANU va fi ascultat chiar şi de cei ce o contestă pe nedrept... prin simplul fapt că nimeni nu poate rezista să nu asculte această voce dumnezeiască!

Chiar şi în iunie 2009, în cadrul unei emisiuni în direct, doamna MARIA CIOBANU a primit ropote de aplauze, observându-se astfel dragostea majorităţii românilor pentru „Ciocârlia” României, vocea de aur a românilor!!!

So, from 1961 until today she won many contests (only 1st place!), has the critics appreciation, and most important, the admiration of the audience, being fully rewarded with applause, flowers and ovations. She sang on famous stages all over the country, and also in small villages to nowhere. She had concerts abroad, demonstrating through her ”Skylark” trills the beauty and strength which exists in the Romanian folklore verse!

At the anniversary concert form August 14th, 2004, she sang with just her three children, proving - involuntary - that she's the only voice in Romania, and not just from here, that could ”give” to the world 3 voices, one more beautiful then the other, and that she can have a family show - show that will remain the most beautiful of all times - which was live 100% comparing with other Romanian singers anniversary shows where they were... lip-sing (shame on them!), also mocking the fans.

”Mary, Mary; Lark, 'Skylark'!” - that's the name of the grandiose concert - was an incursion through the entire golden career of Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU, delighting younger fans that didn't had the chance to hear songs at the moment of their creation in the '60's, '70's or '80's, even '90's! And, so, the ”Skylark” gave herself, totally, to the audience - with the common sense specific to her - offering over three hours of live recital, out of love and respect for the folklore and her loving audience!

Interesting is the fact that the true Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU fans listen rarely or hardly other singers - but, even then, only those with voices and an authentic repertoire. Why? Because of the exceptional never-seen-before qualities of the ”Skylark”, for no other singer will ever be able to reach such a performance! Though, one thing is certain, Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU golden voice will be listen even by those that unfairly denies her... by the simple fact that no one can resist to not listen this supernal voice!!!

Even in June 2009, during a live TV show, Mrs. MARIA CIOBANU got warmest applause, showing the love of the majority of Romanians for ”The Skylark” of Romania, Romanians golden voice!!!
