Next steps:
ESTA E. Board meets on 9/27 to review the TA and move it to Rep Council. Rep Council will have a special meeting to review the TA and take action to send it to members for ratification. There will be a virtual Q&A meeting for members to attend and ask questions. Dates for ratification TBD after Rep Council takes action.
September 2023
September 25: Meeting #3, started with the district giving District Proposal #3. This was presented as a package proposal so ESTA had to accept it all or it would revert to District Proposal #2. ESTA countered by offering its own package proposal, ESTA Proposal #4. Both sides made concessions to try and get the deal done.
Both sides stayed late and reached a Tentative Agreement.
September 14: Meeting #2, both teams sit down and began bargaining.
ESTA offered its counter to the district's last proposal - where the district crossed off everything proposed from ESTA. ESTA came back with its counter that emphasizes recruiting and retaining.
The district responded with their counter. They changed their original offer of nothing in salary to 8% and made movements in parental leave. This is a move in the right direction. Both teams exchanged thoughtful questions on the other areas.
ESTA responded with another counter and made movements on parental leave and salary to continue to move things in a positive direction.
April 2022
April 28: Meeting #1, both teams sit down and began bargaining.
ESTA begins the day by submitting its initial proposal in the morning. The district spent several hours in caucus and returned around 1:45pm with a counter. The district rejected ALL components of ESTA's proposal in their counter.
