About Our Bands

The entry point to band is the Training Band which takes Epping West Public School students who are going into Year 3 or higher. No previous musical experience is expected.

Training Band students will familiarise themselves with their instruments and the basics of playing in a band. For Band Camp training band students will only attend the daytime sessions, returning home in the evenings.

• Conductor - The Training Band conductor is Christine Pringle / Radu Boros.

• Rehearsals - Rehearsals are held twice a week in the Epping West Public School hall

• Volunteer roles - All band parents are expected to volunteer for rehearsal duty and to participate in running band. For other volunteer opportunities see the band committee, speak to one of the other band volunteers or contact us.

Intermediate Band is the next step for students who have successfully completed the training band program.

Students must audition to be accepted into Intermediate Band.

Intermediate Band is an opportunity to perform more challenging pieces and explore what students can do with their instruments and as a band. Intermediate Band students and above will sleep over at Band Camp.

Senior Band is our most advanced band and performs to a very high standard with many opportunities for public appearances. 

Students must audition to be accepted into Senior Band.

Senior Band students are leaders in the band community, including helping with the information evening and providing the opportunity to try instruments for students who are interested in joining Training Band.

• Rehearsals - Rehearsals are held twice a week in the Epping West Public School hall
