EWPS Band Fees for 2025
*** 2026 Fees to follow ***
For each student enrolled in EWPS band, parents will need to pay all three following components plus registration fees, if applicable:
Band Fee
Band Camp Fee
Bonds (refundable)
The Epping West band is entirely organised and funded by volunteer parents, operating with oversight of the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C). All fees, plus any defaulted bonds, go directly to the costs involved in running EWPS Bands. Fees are calculated to cover the cost of running the band each year.
If you are expecting to hire an instrument from the band, additional costs are available on the Instrument Hire page.
Band is a large financial commitment. In addition to these fees you should consider the cost of a weekly instrument tutor, a band uniform, and travel to performances and competitions.

Training Band Registration Deposit
Upon successful application, Training Band students will pay $120 due on registration (administration fee of $20 plus a holding deposit of $100) in Term 4 of the year before the student starts band. $100 will be taken off the balance owed at the beginning of the year, with the remaining $350 due in Term 1.
A student who registers for Training Band but withdraws before full fee payment will forfeit this deposit, which will be directed to essential costs for the band program.
2. Band Camp Fee
Training Band $300 per student
Intermediate Band $350 per student
Senior Band $350 per student
Band Camp is an important and exciting element of the EWPS band program. Your child will look forward to a full weekend of music, tutorials, a performance and of course a lot of fun. Camp traditions include a talent show and a special event for the Year 6 students who are attending their last band camp.
Students in their first year of band (Training Band) will return home to sleep, but students in all other bands will stay over at the Band Camp venue on Friday and Saturday nights.
Attendance at camp is compulsory for all band students. Band Camp is held every year in mid-March, with payment in full due three weeks before camp. This fee is non-refundable.
The Band Camp Fee includes:
Food, plus accommodation for students staying overnight.
Professional conductors and instrument tutors for the weekend
3. Bonds
Roster Bond (TB, IB, SB) $100
Music Copyright Bond (TB, IB, SB) $50
Roster Bond
At the beginning of each year, a Roster Bond is applied for each student in the EWPS band program.
All EWPS bands are entirely run by volunteer parents, so it is essential that each family helps with three rostered rehearsals per year.
The Roster Bond is refunded in full at the end of the year when parents/ carers have completed their minimum requirements or may be rolled over into subsequent years. The Band Committee reserves the right to withhold the return of the bond where these requirements have not been met.
This bond applies to the student’s obligations for all the bands they are enrolled in - e.g., if a student is in both Senior Band and Big Band their bond will apply to requirements for both bands.
Music Copyright Bond
The EWPS Band Committee takes our responsibility to composers and publishers seriously, so arrangements are in place to meet copyright requirements while ensuring that access to current music is as easy as possible for parents. This includes a Music Copyright Bond held for the annual return of copyrighted music.
Band parents can print their own copies of music at home using our digital library. Under copyright requirements, any printed copies remain the property of the Band Committee, so access to the digital library is on condition that you return the printed copy to the Band Committee at the end of the year.
The Music Copyright Bond will be withheld if all music is not returned and applied to band expenses including payment of fines or additional copyright fees. If all music is returned at the end of the band year the Bond will be refunded or may be rolled over into subsequent years.
This bond applies to the student’s obligations for all the bands they are enrolled in - e.g., if a student is in both Senior Band and Big Band their bond will apply to requirements for both bands.
