HI-LIGHTS: This KING ELVIS LP is the "Holy Grail" of Boots! This is the 1st Issue, of the 1st Press, of the FIRST Ever North American (Canada) ELVIS BOOTLEG Album! If the Cover Title, "The Hillbilly Cal Live" is Not Centered at top & bottom edges, then it is Not an Original 1st Press. Only 189 copies were pressed, but as the 1st boot ever, it was a trial & error labor of love, many problems occurred with manufacturing, pressing & distribution. Covers arrived defective. Many with no records, or 1 record, or 2 of the same record. When all was said & done, only about 50 complete copies were available exclusively to members of the Canadian "Spring Fever EP Fan Club". Ironically, the '1st N. Am. Boot Ever', was Not intended as a 'boot', but rather a marketing tool to promote the newly-founded Canadian "Spring Fever EP Fan Club" in 1970! Of note, SPEPFC was also the FIRST to print a full scale, ELVIS color & b&w yearly calendar! Members contributed their personal, mostly live pics & like the LP, was exclusively available to their members as a marketing & promotional tool. The Fan Club Pres, Claude was ahead of his time in more ways than 1! This  LP also featured the very 1st release of "Tiger Man" sung on its own & not as part of the Mystery Train-Tiger Man medley. As well as "When The Snow Is On The Roses"! Cover is EX with minor wear & 3 of the 4 sides of the Vinyl are M, with 1 light mark on 4th side M-.

HI-LIGHTS: This is the Rare 1st Press - 1st Issue Cover featuring color (front) & b&w (back) shots of Elvis during a Nov. 10, 1971 Boston Gardens performance. Although the back cover states "Printed In Holland", this was the second bootleg recording released by the infamous Claude Laliberte, Prez of the "Spring Fever EP Fan Club" of Canada. 500 copies were intended to be pressed, but once again, due to financial & production problems, it's estimated Less than 100 copies made it to club members. Contains February 21, 1971, Midnight Show, Las Vegas, NV. Of note, since the '68 Comeback, this was The King's 4th Vegas engagement & the first ever in which the "2001 A Space Odyssey" was used & remained as his Intro! It's also the first time that he closed the show with "The Impossible Dream", rather than the standard 'Can't Help Falling In Love' closing! 1 of the Rarer & most sought-after Elvis Boot LP's! Cover is nice, clean EX condition with 1 minor top L corner crease. M- Labels & VG+ Vinyl are clean with minor surface scuffing that does Not affect play.

HI-LIGHTS: Cover features a color shot of Elvis during a July 1975 performance; reverse has an album-size black-and-white photo from a June 1973 tour show. This was the first bootleg recording to feature a color gatefold cover (and the second bootleg ever to have a gatefold, the black-and-white "Hillbilly Cat" being the first); it served, more or less, as a prototype to what would come later by Paul "Balls" Dowling and "WorldWideElvis". Contains various television appearances, live performances and undubbed studio masters. This album is unusual in that all recordings are presented in chronological order. The 1969 live recordings are believed to have originated from a master-tape obtained by someone possibly connected to RCA. Includes long version of "Suspicious Minds", performed live by Elvis for the very first time in August 1969 (three months before the single was released, in Nov.).

HI-LIGHTS: This KING ELVIS LP features the second pressing on the green 'Dragonfly' Label. Of 19 pressings, this 6th pressing is the only pressing to use this A&B label design. The album art is a 'wrap-around' design using a Elvis publicity still from 1969 "The Trouble With Girls". The album presents a fantastic compilation of studio, rehearsal and live songs, recorded between 1954 and 1972, complete with interview! Although the back cover states "free poster inside", it was only with the 1st pressing.

HI-LIGHTS: Although "ERR" would never dispute that Paul "Balls" Dowling was, is, and always will be King of the Bootleggers, he however, in ERR's humble opinion, did not do the definitive Elvis Boot of All Boots. Based on material and song content, we believe that honor goes to, "Elvis The Entertainer." This album is unique in that it contains material spanning nearly the King's entire career, of which every single song is outstanding. It contains alternate arrangements of "Polk Salad Annie" and "Kentucky Rain" so definitive they must be heard in order to be believed, and the first live release of "Don't Cry Daddy". It was released Originally with this blue cover by a California bootlegger, and then reissued with the orange cover. (see next)...

Just A Closer Walk With Thee

**All private home recordings, Waco, TX, 5/17/58.**

HI-LIGHTS: This album was likewise subject to anti-bootlegging legal action. The front cover shows a painting, rather than a picture, of Elvis in an effort to avoid copyright infringement. After all copies were confiscated by RCA, many were sold through the U.S. Post Office with no original covers and a generic white sleeve. This album was the first to feature Elvis in a relaxed home environment, jamming at the piano with friends, giving us such classics as "Happy Happy Birthday Baby", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Who's Sorry Now".  What was once considered unreleasable, unprofessional material, such as these home recordings, actually became the precedent of what was to come by RCA many years after the King's death.
