Overview:
The Fractal Tree is a plant that provides food for herbivores and propagates by producing fruit that have the ability to travel with the aid of gravity and the interaction of Avatars.
Food:
The Fractal Tree provides food for herbivores such as Chiazza.
The root is not edible by any of the current creatures but has a limited life span, varying from 4 up to 20 hours.
The usual sprouting cycle is 9 minutes and this guarantees a lot of food for tree leaf eating creatures.
Behaviour:
The Fractal Tree is a strange life form. It is a vegetable but it acts like a colony. This is because the root spawns a branch at given times and it recursively spawns other branches. But all the branches are independent of each other and can live and die on their own. In fact, a predator can completely eat a branch without affecting the others. Also if all branches are eaten, the root will spawn new branches at the next sprouting cycle.
Reproduction:
The branch offers EWG tree leaf food (standard 1) and has a fixed energy, that decreases with time. It's able to spawn one or at max 2 fruits during it's lifespan.
The fruit, born on tree branches, will fall to the ground once they ripen and have the chance to spawn a new tree root. They offer EWG fruit food (standard1) and have little energy. Fruit spawning is based on lag levels, as is the spawning of the new tree root.
Evolutionary theory aspects:
Development history:
(Example) Initially this animal did this, when it lived in such place, and often dd this, and this, then this happened (Was featured in an exhibition which required it to fit a slightly different niche/behave differently) which encouraged this change to happen... and so on.
Future developments:
(Example) Based on the creature's response to this, is seems advisable to do that....It will also be interesting to do this...
