Allyn Ford, Chairman

c/o Umpqua Bank

P.O. Box 1820

Roseburg, OR, 97470

Chairman Ford:

I am writing to inform you that we have withdrawn all our business accounts from Umpqua Bank to communicate how unhappy we are with your toxic deforestry practices (through Roseburg Resources) in Oregon and California, which include: poisoning rural families with toxic herbicide, a human rights abuse; pumping global warming gases into the atmosphere through intensive, short-rotation logging; committing clearcuts which cause erosion, landslides, siltation, fouling of drinking water sources and the death of salmon runs; and the tax-payer subsidized logging of our public lands native forests.

I hope withdrawing our accounts will send a message to you loud and clear that northwestern businesses want to protect our forests and watersheds; our fish and wildlife; our health and quality of life, and therefore insist you abandon your current obsolete model of industrial forest practices in favor of responsible, ethical selective logging on your private lands.

No longer an Umpqua Bank customer until things change,
