Course Description
This course entails both an academic course and a tailored internship experience designed to bridge academic concepts in communications and practical application in a professional setting. The student will engage in hands-on activities at The Saratogian newspaper under the guidance of both an onsite supervisor and a faculty member, gaining real-world experience in the field of communications. Throughout the internship, the student will also engage in reflective academic work to enhance their understanding and application of communications theories, goals and career expectations. In addition to the internship hours, the student will meet with the faculty member at the beginning, middle, and end of the term to discuss three papers: Initial goals and expectations, mid-term analysis, and end of term individualized analysis of communication theories and previous coursework as applied to the internship experience.
