Announcements (Updated 1/17)
Solutions for Test 5 are posted below.
The Final Exam will be on Friday 1/17 at 10:50 AM. It will be comprehensive (cover the entire course), and consist of: 20 Multiple Choice (40%) and 6 Problems (60%). The 6 Problems will all be substantially similar (but perhaps not identical) to problems taken from old Tests to which you have access.
Test 5 will be all Multiple Choice (probably 20 questions) and will be held on or about Tuesday 1/15. It will cover all or most of Textbook sections 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, & 4.6. For practice, please see the Fall 2011 Test 5 (Multiple Choice) and the Spring 2011 Test 5 (not Multiple Choice), but keep in mind that you will not be responsible for some of the topics covered on those tests, primarily anti-derivatives.
Solutions and Statistics for Test 4 are posted below.
Solutions and Statistics for Test 3 are posted below.
Test 4 will cover textbook sections 3.5, 3.6, & 3.7 (and possibly 3.8 and/or 4.1 - TBD). You will also be expected to be proficient in all the mathematics you have learned from first grade up through and including Test 3. In particular, you will be expected to be familiar with the basic properties of trigonometric and exponential functions and their inverses, and the material covered on Test 3.
Blank copies of the Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 Test 4 can be downloaded here. On both Tests, Problem 8 is from Sec 3.8 and Problems 9 & 12 are from Sec 4.1, so these may not be relevant to your Test 4.
Period 1 Test Date Thu 12/20
Period 4 Test Date Fri 12/21
Test 3 will cover textbook sections 3.1, 3.2, & 3.4. You will also be expected to be proficient in all the mathematics you have learned from first grade up to and including Test 2. In particular, you will be expected to be familiar with the basic properties of trigonometric and exponential functions and their inverses.
Period 1 Test Date Tue 12/4
Period 4 Test Date Tue 12/4
If your average score on Test 1 and Test 2 is less than 55, it is imperative that you make an appointment with me ASAP.
Solutions and Statistics for Test 2 are posted below.
Test 2 will cover textbook sections 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, & 2.9. You will also be expected to be proficient in all the mathematics you have learned from first grade up to and including Test 1. In particular, you will be expected to be familiar with the basic properties of trigonometric and exponential functions and their inverses.
Period 1 Test Date Fri 11/9
Period 4 Test Date Fri 11/9
If you received a score of 60 or below on Test 1, you are required to make an appointment with me to discuss your test on or before 10/26.
Solutions and Statistics for Test 1 are posted below.
It is strongly suggested that you do Spring 2011 Test 1 and Fall 2011 Test 1 as practice tests, which can be found (with solutions) in those sections of this web site. Keep in mind that there are many problems involving "continuity", which you are not expected to be able to do until we cover section 2.4.
Test 1 will cover textbook sections 2.2, 2.3, & 2.4. You will also be expected to be proficient in all the mathematics you have learned from first grade up to and including Pre-Calculus.

Period 4 Test Date Tue 10/9
Welcome to Calculus I.
Homework (Updated 1/10)
Some assigned textbook problems have a "calculator graphing" component. That part of the problem (only) is optional; the rest of the problem is required.
