The 1830 US Federal Census indicates that two additional children were in the household, the boy was in the 10-14 years old range, and the girl 5-9 years old. William was also in the 10-14 year category, and would've been 13, making his younger brother about 11, this unknown male child also appears in August 1820 with the family (I've assumed they are the same). Both of the children may have remained in Oneida or Madison Countie, and with no names it's too difficult to assign any McDonald to these two at present.

The Descendants of Joseph Loomis in America, originally published in 1875 (and revised in 1908) stated that Charles had married Louisa Winton in Nov 1864. The 1865 New York State Census records Charles as single. The "Marriages" section of the census does not record his marriage, which if it had occurred in Nov 1864, would have been within the census year and should have been documented. Charles has not been found in the 1870 US Federal Census as yet. It's possible that the person who gave the information was wrong about the name of this Charles Loomis's bride, or that they had the date wrong and it was Nov 1865 (which would have happened after the census was conducted in New York). It states the couple had no children. But if the book was published in 1875, how old was the information? By 1874, Charles has remarried, and the book makes no mention of him as widower. It's suspicious that Charles and Elizabeth married in Nov 1874 (perhaps this is the date the book meant to record?). Are Louisa Winton and Elizabeth Kellogg the same person? Her name could easily be Elizabeth Louisa, perhaps Winton was her maiden name and she had been married previously to an Unknown Kellogg. Nothing about Elizabeth Kellogg is known before her marriage to Charles.

Hard to say, but this is what makes the most sense so far, looking at the data.

Milly spent her early childhood in western New York. Around the time her mother Ann died, her family moved to Groveland, Oakland, Michigan, USA. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Ward 10 in Detroit. There Milly worked as a dress maker. It was in Detroit that she met and married her husband Alfred Kratz. When Alfred’s ancestors emigrated to Canada, their German name of Kratz was changed to Scratch. After moving to the United States, it appears the family resumed using their original surname of Kratz. They had no offspring. Milly died of consumption ten months after their marriage. Her burial location is unknown.
Alfred eventually remarried on 10 Feb 1876 to Maria Rosalee “Lillie” Loomis. They had two children Edwin A. and Ida. Alfred and Lillie were granted a divorce on 21 Jul 1897 in Kent County, Michigan, USA. Alfred married a third time to Anna Simpson on 09 Dec 1900 in Irwin County, Georgia, USA. Alfred died as a result of a leaky heart valve. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Ben Hill, Georgia, USA with his third wife.

Sand Lake was part of Greenbush until 1812 and were Simon and his family were living through August 1830, after which the family moved to Lenox, Madison, New York, USA. William enlisted in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, USA with Lt. Day for a period of three years of service. He was listed as 5'9" with a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair. He was a mason by trade. However, it appears William deserted his post that April after two months. What became of William afterwards remains undiscovered.
