Librarian Endeavors
The elevator pitch, nowadays, is that I am a double agent. I enjoy encouraging artists how to think more like librarians and librarians to create more like artists.
I am not alone. ARLIS/NA, the Art Librarians Society of North America, has a Special Interest Group devoted to cultivating creativity in practice and more and more artists are nerding out in libraries, either researching or intervening, so I feel like a late bloomer very much at home in the field.
What do I know about being a librarian? My mother was the great librarian in my elementary school, so I have given this some thought.
