Backstage
Performing Arts was still in existence in public schools and city parks in the 1970s, and so, as a child of working class parents, I was able to harvest the benefits that it had to offer a shy, chubby, bookish kid.
I studied and played the cello and sang in choirs that ranged from 100 voices to 8.
Finally I got immersed in theatre, but only off stage.
In High School I worked on school productions, but away from school I became a member of Cortland Repertory Theatre, primarily as stitcher and wardrobe mistress under two great ladies: Barbara Bell and Maria Marerro.
This chapter of my life, 40 years ago, has long ago fallen away from my resume, yet its effects have stayed with me.
When I have a breather, I plan to add images to these. I have a LOT of documentation - photos, programs, sketches and plans.
