This comprehensive one-day programme has been developed to give the participants an introduction to contracting with the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MoD) in its role as one of the major procurement organisations in the United Kingdom.
Having attended this event the participants will have a better understanding of the following:

key aspects of the UK MoD procurement objectives & current initiatives and reviews
the UK MoD tendering process
the UK MoD’s more effective contracting principles
UK MoD contract types and associated pricing conditions
Methods of monitoring and measurement of contract performance
Key UK MoD conditions of contract. - Including MoD IPR Defcons & MOD Pricing Defcons
Changes resulting to UK MoD non competitive pricing as a result of the Defence Reform Act
All staff who are involved with contracting with the UK MoD and who need a fuller understanding of the UK MoD’s acquisition procedures and processes including:
engineering and project management staff
contracts and commercial staff
marketing and sales staff
sub-contract procurement teams
No prior knowledge of contracting with the UK MoD is required for participating in the course, however it is also an appropriate course for staff that have had some initial involvement with the UK MoD procurement organisation and wish to build on their existing knowledge base.
Where the course participants are predominantly from one discipline (i.e. engineering) the course can be tailored to focus on the interaction of that discipline with the UK MoD whilst covering the overall course content.
This comprehensive two day course is based on formal presentation material from the expert trainer and practical case examples / studies. Time will be set aside for participants to raise issues of particular interest to them.
There is the option for participants to the course to attend an additional intensive one day course on UK MoD Conditions of Contract, that will expand on the overview of the key UK MoD contract conditions contained in this two day introductory course to contracting with the UK MoD
