Ashippun River

Most of my recent work has a strong horizontal axis and I felt it was time to push upwards. Both of these drawing/paintings feature the square-root-of-5 rectangle, with a vertical orientation.

I first completed Ashippun River and am most satisfied with its emphasis on shapes, forms, and light. My intent was to closely hue to this idea with Tiers, but as the painting developed, a slightly different direction became apparent.
