  • Go through Jake Vanderplas' notebook on PCA from this repo.  Here's a direct link to the appropriate notebook.  Make sure you get the high-level idea of PCA, or at least formulate some questions.  We'll be discussing PCA in class in small groups, so make sure you do the reading!

Project Story Modeling

I'll be showing some prototypical examples of project stories from the CompRobo class from Fall 2015.

• • Interim progress report: this includes design decisions made so far, outstanding issues / future work, and lots of good documentation / visuals that illustrate the project up until now.

  • Sketchibot (Alex Crease, Kai Levy, and Jay Woo)

  • Deconstructing the learning process: this entry looks into Kiki and Ryan's process of learning about C++ and mapping.  They give a detailed discussion on the process they are using to learn the material, some initial insights, and lots of documentation to help the reader understand the topic at hand.  Fundamentally the document is written to help others learn the same things that they have just learned about.
