On the 29th May the first round of the Munster Championships started. The teams were Cork v Tipperary. I was chosen to represent Tipperary in the primary schools game at half time in the big game. They made me Captain and I played mid-field. While I was waiting to play I had butterflies in my stomach and I was nervous. The atmosphere was electric but once I was on the field my nerves went and I got stuck in. It was a tough game. Tipperary won by 0-03 pts to 0-01 point.
I would like to thank Mr. Mansell and Mr. Cotter for taking me to all the training sessions and giving up their free time. I would like to give a big thank you to Tony, Dixie and Liam for their coaching sessions up through the years in the Greenschool. During my training sessions I made friends with lots of boys from other schools. It was a great day and I will never forget it. We had our lunch in Hayes Hotel and I got a G.A.A. kit with number 7 on it. It was a great honour to represent my county and my school on the day. UP THE PREMIER COUNTY – UP TIPP – BLUE AND GOLD FOR EVER AND EVER!
