Any schools who have qualified for the finals please submit your team list ASAP. (See team list submission guidelines below. The Tipperary Yearbook insists that all teamlists are submitted in the exact same format!)
PLEASE CAREFULLY READ ALL OF THIS EMAIL.
On arrival for your final, a Cumann na mBunscol/Semple Stadium official will direct you to your dressing room. All schools should arrive at Semple Stadium at least 30 minutes before throw in. Timetables will issue once all finalists are known and all schools have submitted their teamlists.
Your team photo will be taken in the tunnel.
Please text Aodan Wrenn on 0876578057 on the day your school qualifies for the final.
You can name as many subs as you want on your panel. You must use a minimum of 2 subs at halftime in U11 games.
The amount of subs introduced at U13 is at your own discretion.
All your subs MUST sit in the dugouts while games are in progress.
You are permitted to have 5 people helping the team on the day e.g. Teachers, coaches, etc. These people will be provided with respect bibs on the day from Cumann namBunscol.
At the end of the match, the tradition is to take a photograph of the two "Players of the Match" together (One from each school). If you could select a Player of the Match at the end of the game and send her over to Paudie Fahey or I, that would be great. We won't have time to be chasing teachers looking for these players.
The County Newspapers i.e. Tipp Star, Guardian, Nationalist, Premier People & South Tipp Today usually publish a supplement on the finals in the weeks following the games, so keep an eye out for these.
Finally, I wish all of you a most enjoyable day and I hope your players enjoy themselves to the maximum.
Below is an explanation re: Submission of teams in the correct format as per Tipperary Yearbook guidelines.
SUBMISSION OF TEAMS FOR 2018 COUNTY HURLING FINALS (VERY IMPORTANT)
A chairde, Congrats to all schools who have already reached County Finals which are scheduled to take place on Tuesday/Wednesday, June 12th/13th in Semple Stadium. It is very important that all schools adhere to certain formatting criteria when submitting team lists for this year's Finals. It makes life much easier for Cumann na mBunscol Officers, Sports Editors and the people on The Tipperary Yearbook committee if all teams are typed using the same format. We have a huge volume of teams involved this year; 60 plus Teams in total. All the teams are printed in the Tipp Yearbook and also appear in the Tipperary Newspapers' special Co. Final Supplement/Spread. Please use the following criteria when sending in teams:
- Capital Letters for first letter of surname and christian name.
- Number each player (They must wear this number on the day).
- Name of School & competition precedes teamlist e.g. Kerry CBS Under 13 Roinn G Hurling Team: 1. Tom Ryan, 2. Joe Ryan, 3. Liam King, 4. Mike Flynn, etc. The format should be just like above i.e. Name of School Team and Competition followed by a colon and a space. Then it's number, full stop, player's name, comma and a space. Just like above: e.g. Kerry CBS Under 13 Roinn G Hurling Team: 1. Tom Ryan, 2. Joe Ryan, 3. Liam King, 4. Mike Flynn, etc. No brackets are necessary after numbers. Font should be Verdana Style and size 10. Please list school principal and teachers/coaches after your panel e.g. 17. Tom Ryan, 18. Mike Quinn, 19. Liam Dunne. Principal: Joe Doyle. Coaches: Liam Egan & Mary Jones.
- DO NOT SEND IN TEAMS IN VERTICAL FORMAT PLEASE.
- Please put name of school team AND COMPETITION in subject bar of email e.g. Kerry CBS Under 13 Roinn G Hurling Team.
- Please get your team lists in to me ASAP. All team lists should be emailed to me on the day your team qualifies for the finals.
- There are 30 PLUS finals this year with 60 PLUS different team lists. We want all the children's names to appear properly in reports for newspapers, website & Yearbook. Your cooperation with this is much appreciated.
