Thank you for your interest in volunteering to be a leader! The strength of our cub scout program stems from the commitment and dedication of our parent volunteers. Together we can make it a fulfilling and memorable experience for all our kids.
The safety and well-being of our Cub Scouts is of paramount importance to our pack and the BSA, and it is integral to everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment at all times for all our Cub Scouts. Before registering as an Adult Leader, all volunteers must take the BSA's Youth Protection Training course and maintain a valid certification.
Interested volunteers can go to the my.Scouting.org website and register for a BSA account. After signing-in, the BSA's online training modules can be accessed by selecting the My Training page from the menu or by clicking the Youth Protection Training image. Youth Protection Training Certification is valid for two years and must be renewed by all Leaders.
Adult Leaders serve as important role models for Cub Scouts and this application aids our Chartered Organization in selecting qualified adult volunteer leaders. After completing the Youth Protection Training course, volunteers must complete the BSA's Adult Application, which can be completed online by vititing our unit's Application Page.
Once completed, the application will be routed to our Pack Committee Chair, who will seek approval from our Chartered Organization Representative. Approved applications will be processed for registration by the Aloha Council. For the safety of our Cub Scouts, the BSA conducts mandatory criminal background checks during the application and registration process, and periodic rechecks to support the continued safety of our youth.
Pack 167 will reimburse the Adult Leader registration fees for those who commit to serve as leaders with the Pack for at least one program year.
