These fees are paid directly to Scouting America at the time of registration through the My.Scouting portal and do not fund any unit-level activities or expenses.
Scouting America National Registration Fee: This annual fee is paid to Scouting America to support the national organization. It helps cover essential services such as youth protection training, insurance, program development, and resources that support Scouting across the country.
Aloha Council Program Fee: Collected by the Aloha Council, this fee supports local Scouting in Hawaii. It helps subsidize council events like Cub Scout Day Camp, leader training, program materials, camp maintenance, and professional staff who provide support to units throughout the islands.
Scout Life Magazine (Optional +$15): During online registration, you will be given the option to purchase a subscription to Scout Life magazine. This is not required for participation in the program.
Pack Dues are collected by our Treasurer and determined by our annual pack budget. They cover most of the direct costs of running our Cub Scout program, including awards and advancement materials, den and pack meeting supplies, background checks for adult leaders, pinewood derby kits, pack equipment, facility rentals, special events, and other activities and expenses throughout the year. During the year, the Pack participates in Aloha Council fundraisers that provide opportunities to earn credit toward Pack Dues and other unit-level program costs such as camp and event fees.
The official “Class A” uniform is worn at pack meetings, ceremonies, and other formal Scouting events. Each Cub Scout level—Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos—has its own uniform style and required insignia. This uniform typically includes a Cub Scout shirt, neckerchief and slide, belt, and hat. It shows pride in belonging to Scouting and helps mark each Scout’s achievements.
Class B uniforms are casual shirts—often custom-designed T-shirts with our Pack’s logo—worn during outings, service projects, and less formal events. They’re a comfortable and affordable option for active days and help our Scouts stay visible as a group while having fun.
Cub Scout program handbooks guide Scouts through rank requirements, activities, and adventures. Each rank has its own handbook, designed to support both Scouts and parents. These handbooks help parents engage with their child's Scouting journey and track their progress, making them a valuable investment in your child’s development.
Collected separately per person (including Scouts, parents, and siblings) for each camping event, these fees help cover shared costs such as meals, campsite reservations, and group supplies. Because campouts vary in size and location, these costs are not included in annual dues and are collected as needed for each event.
Some outings and field trips may require an additional fee to cover admission or tickets. Examples include visits to the Honolulu Zoo, Sweet Land Farm (a goat dairy), a ride on the Hawaiian Railway Society’s Ewa Train, or tickets to a University of Hawaiʻi baseball game. These fees are collected per participant and vary depending on the event.
Aloha Council collects registration fees for various District- or Council-level events throughout the year, such as the Oahu Cub Scout Day Camp in the summer, weekend Cub-o-ree events in the fall, and other special activities throughout the year.
