A block of pine, four sets of plastic wheels and axles, and some additional weight will get your competitive juices flowing. Cub Scouts, with the assistance of their parents (sometimes vice-versa) design and build their cars to meet the exact specs of the official rules and regulations of the Pinewood Derby -- the Grand Prix of Cub Scouts. To win, Cub Scouts must design a car that takes full advantage of gravity -- the driving force engine -- while taming the resistance of friction. Who will be first to the finish, represent our Pack at Makahiki, and race for a chance at being the fastest car on the island?
