EPIC 2024

La Conferenza Internazionale di Egittologia e di Papirologia (EPIC 2024) è rivolta a giovani studiosi italiani e stranieri attualmente impegnati presso università ed istituti di formazione che intendono presentare i loro recenti studi sulle diverse tematiche dell’Egittologia e della Papirologia. Il Centro Studi Champollion, da anni impegnato a favorire la diffusione della cultura storica e archeologica dell’Antico Egitto, in occasione dei suoi dieci anni di attività, promuoverà e organizzerà questo importante evento scientifico a Genova nel giugno 2024. La conferenza costituisce significativo momento di incontro e di confronto fra giovani studiosi europei ed extraeuropei e rappresenta altresì occasione per i partecipanti di poter ampliare il proprio bagaglio professionale e di mostrare le proprie capacità quali futuri egittologi e papirologi.

Call for Papers for the International Conference for Young Researchers in Egyptology and Papyrology (EPIC 2024)

We invite papers from postgraduate and early post-doc researchers, working on Egyptology and Papyrology from the Prehistoric to the Late Roman Period. The EPIC 2022 allows presentations from many different research fields, such as: history, art history, architecture, archaeology, philology, religion and current fieldwork.

Types of presentation

You can either give a 20 minutes talk or present an A0 / A1 poster. Participants, who wish to present a paper at the conference need to submit an abstract in Windows Word, which should not exceed 600 words and must be submitted by 31^st December 2023 to direzione.centrochampollion@gmail.com with the subject EPIC-2022 abstract. At the top of the abstract the author must indicate the field of interest (Egyptology or Papyrology) and the sector from those mentioned before. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your abstract. The scientific committee will decide whether your paper is accepted or not through a blind-reviewed process. The decision of the scientific committee will be sent to you no later than end of February 2023.

Participation fee & listeners

The participation fee is free for the researchers. For the listeners the participation fee is 100 euro; the registration is necessary in order to attend the conference as or a listener. All those, who would like to come to the EPIC 2024 need to register by the attached form.

A selection of submitted and peer reviewed papers will be published in a proceedings volume edited by BAR Oxford in 2025.
