HOW TO OIL YOUR KENMORE SEW MACHINE
Instructions
1
Check your Kenmore sewing machine user manual for a diagram of the parts to oil for your make and model. If you do not have a manual, search for either a user manual or a service manual online and purchase one. You can buy user manuals even for retired Kenmore sewing machines or older Kenmore sewing machine. Sometimes the manuals are photocopies because the actual manual has been out of print.
2
Add one or two small drops of oil to the parts labeled in the diagram specific to your Kenmore sewing machine. Moving parts, both metal and plastic, will need maintenance oiling. The humidity levels in your home, amount of salt in the air and how your sewing machine is stored will affect the oiling needs and locations. Low humidity, high salt content or bright sunlight on a Kenmore sewing machine will warrant more oiling on moving parts that are more exposed.
3
The parts on a Kenmore sewing machine that usually need to be oiled more regularly include the moving parts where the bobbin is spun--on older models this is located near the thread spool--the base of the moving part that pulls the thread up and down after it leaves the tension dial, the moving part that controls the needle and the moving parts near the bobbin case. Remove any lint or threads that can build up in or around the bobbin case before oiling.
4
You will need to remove the case to access some moving parts listed in your Kenmore sewing machine manual oiling diagram. You also will need to tilt the head to the underside to get to a few other important moving parts. The parts that remain covered tend to need oiling less regularly.
5
If you don't feel comfortable oiling your machine for the first time or oiling the parts that require you to take apart your machine, then take your Kenmore sewing machine to a local sewing machine service repair shop. Have the sewing machine technician walk you through the basics of oiling and maintaining your machine.

My Brother XL3030 sewing machine Notes:
Brother XL3030 SEWING MACHINE ..STRAIGHT STITCH
Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin...
Its sews fine for a while and then the thread gets stuck in the parts around the bobbin. I've removed the bobbin parts and cleaned and it still does it.
change the needle
also make sure the needle is right one for the fabric & thread
clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
check to see if the thread has come off the thread take lever
http://www.fixya.com/support/t6936021-its_sews_fine_while_thread_gets
When I try to sew my machine jams a little every few seconds and is not sewing on top. When I try to remove the fabric it is stuck and there is a mess of thread underneath. I have
cleaned and oiled my machine and the problem is still there. I think my tension is fine. Help!
Hello,
Although you already re-theaded and cleaned your machine, re-check this:
- Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and rethread your bobbin.
If that doesn't work, try this:
- Change your bobbin. There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.
- Raise your feed dogs if your machine has this feature.
Note:
when you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.
Hope this helps.

Reviews:
The brother XL-3030, 30 stitch function machine offers high performance at a very reasonable price. IT is readily available at most major chain department stores offering appliances.
I like the machine because as many of us sewing people know it can be difficult to find a reasonably priced machine that will sew well through heavy material or material of double or even triple thickness. This machine did so without any effort. It also allows for the use of a double needle for added detail to any finished piece.
Its easy to make your own adjustments, without the help of a professional. Oiling and cleaning of the machine can be done by most any amateur as long as you follow the directions, as can be tension setting. It offers a great variety stitches as well as stitch widths.
Over all I found it to be a machine that out preforms its price and is easy to use for even the novice seamstress. The only short coming of the product would be if you are an advanced machine sewer and are wanting it to preform in the category of the high tech computerized machines such as Viking. It would be an unrealistic expectation on this machine. However with a little skill and practice some degree of embroidery work is possible.

SERGER BABY LOCK BELOW
WHO IS BABY LOCK?
For The Love of Sewing
There are many reasons to love sewing. There's the sense of pride and accomplishment you feel when you finish a project. Or, the joy and warmth that comes from giving a sewn gift. Then there's the inspiration that drives you to create something new, and the satisfaction of inspiring those around you.
No matter why you love to sew, Baby Lock understands. Everything that we do from discovering breakthrough technology to improving upon the simplest features is to make your time sewing at your machine as enjoyable as possible. Baby Lock's main goal has been to enhance the love of sewing since our very beginning, over 40 years ago.
Innovation Since the Beginning
In 1964, several engineers and middle managers at a Japanese industrial company believed that they could redesign the industrial serger they were currently manufacturing to be smaller and lighter. Their company rejected the concept, but the team was so committed to their idea that they quit their job and formed their own company. They wanted to build a smaller "baby" serger for home sewers that was capable of producing an overlock stitch. This was the birth of a machine called Baby Lock.
Since then, Baby Lock has kept innovation and "the love of sewing" in mind for all of our products. Today Baby Lock is known worldwide for advancements in sergers particularly the patented Jet-Air Threading™ technology that threads an entire serger with the touch of a button.
