Vintage Sewing
It is said that sewing machines were available to just a few by the 1850s
but increasingly more families owned one as the century progressed
This is Mama's sewing machine
It is a Montgomery Ward with the "coffin style" cover.
Mr. Montgomery Ward was the inventor of this machine. I learned to sew on it, when I was young and in school Home Economic Class
Flowers, plants and fishes,
beasts, birds, flies, and bees
Hills, dales, plains, pastures,

COKE - IS IT THE REAL THING?
Coca-Cola -- the classic fizzy drink
Aging baby boomers may recall a time when they could go into a local soda fountain and ask for a squirt of vanilla syrup in their Coke. At the company headquarters employees have been able to doctor their drinks for years with vanilla, cherry, or lemon flavoring. Now we can all sample Vanilla Coke, a kind of cross between the classic variety and cream soda. I find it quite tasty myself.
THE GOOD RELAXING DRINK

I love to sip hot cocoa in the winter time
Hot Cocoa
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix cocoa, sugar, water and salt in a saucepan. Over medium heat, stir constantly until mixture boils. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla; blend well. Serve immediately.
