Bishop Simon Bruté Vocations Dinner / July social meeting Wed., Jul 7, 2021 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Bishop Simon Brute College, 2500 Cold Spring Rd, Indianapolis, Ind. Council #6138 is a sponsor of the Bishop Simon Bruté Days Dinner, dedicated to aspirants to the priesthood and seminarians. Fr. Mike Keucher has invited our council to the event. The dinner will be held at Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The event should end by 8 p.m. For those of you who would like to assist in the setup, please arrive at 5 p.m. Parking is available in the lot north of the building. Entrance can be gained through the north parking lot gate or the main entrance in front. Depending upon the weather, the event will be held in the cloister area. Pizza and drinks will be served. Officer Installation Ceremony / Past Grand Knights Recognition Dinner Tues., Jul 20, 2021, 6:45pm – 9:45pm, Our Lady of the Greenwood Church. We will have our officer installation ceremony following the 5:45 pm Mass. We'll also recognize the Council’s Past Grand Knights at a dinner immediately following the installation in Father McGivney Hall.

Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Snows & St. Louis, Mo. Fri., Jul 30 – Sun Aug 1, 2021, National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 442 S. Demazenod Dr, Belleville, Ill. Pilgrimage caravan will leave from OLG on Fri., 7/30 at noon. Sat., visit the Shrine of St. Joseph, St. Louis Cathedral and museum. Sun., tour the Old Cathedral, and other sites. Please make reservations ASAP. Rooms will be set aside for us at Our Lady of the Snows until June 30. 12 rooms have been set aside. June 30 is the drop-dead date to inform the Council that you are going.

Our Lady of the Greenwood Food Pantry The OLG Food Pantry is in need of a number of additional volunteers to help us in our mission of providing food to our brothers and sisters in Christ who are most in need of our services. There are a number of opportunities to help, at times that hopefully match your schedule with jobs that match your interests. Please consider sharing your time with us.

The following are our current openings:

  • Stocking shelves: Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Work with clients: Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. (assist clients in ”shopping” in our pantry)

  • Pickup at local restaurants: Thursday and Friday mornings (time flexible)

  • Pickup at Gleaners: Monday mornings (need a truck)

  • Unloading and sorting and donations: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., 4th Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • Mobile pantry assistance: 3rd Thursday, April through September, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
