Supporting Law Enforcement Proclamation

A proclamation supporting state, local and federal law enforcement professionals

Whereas, A lawful society—free from mob rule and violent insurrection—is not possible without law enforcement.

Whereas, We believe police officers and others in the law enforcement profession have chosen a noble profession. They dedicate their lives to upholding the law and protecting the sacred rights of their fellow citizens. As a profession, they deserve support and respect from the citizens in their communities.

Whereas, We believe that calls to “defund the police” are radical and dangerous. Police officers have an incredibly important role to play in helping maintain a lawful society, in which individual rights are protected.

Whereas, Police officers dedicate their lives to upholding the law and protecting their fellow citizens. As a profession, they deserve support and respect. Both from their local community and from elected leaders in Congress.

Whereas, we as members of the Knights of Columbus Council # 6138, support contacting our elected representatives, Congressman Trey Hollingsworth, Senator Mike Braun and Senator Todd Young, to encourage them to show their support and commitment to police officers by signing the pledge at www.policepledge.com.

Now therefore, by the authority vested in me as the Grand Knight of Council #6138, I hereby encourage all brothers of the council and others, to sign the pledge at the web site above to signify our solidarity with the Greenwood Police department and all law enforcement agencies.
