As a Library Media Specialist, the learning is never done. There are always new books, new technologies, new staff members, and new students to engage with. As I continue my education through professional growth opportunities like online groups, conferences, and collaborative efforts, I will continue my forward thinking by sharing information with children and colleagues. My lessons continue to evolve each year as they try to connect to real-world application, knowledge seeking, creative opportunities, provoke creativity, and ignite passion in students in many areas. At the forefront of the Maker & STEM movement, we have the power to involve students in projects, plans, and activities that have not been done yet, and reach more learners than ever.
Through my Library Media program, I have connected with professionals, shared ideas, brought ideas back, sought out new technology tools, shared my library in a digital space, delved into both children and young adult literature, and continued to keep myself in touch with up and coming thoughts, ideas, and innovations. I will continue to keep the connections I have made in order to collaborate with professionals all around the country. We are better together!
