This course was designed to teach how to set up a virtual library space for our collaborative, networked, integrated, and virtual audiences and their needs. Through projects and discussions, we worked with other professionals as we designed online spaces to meet our library's needs.
Included are:
- Website: Here is the link to my library website that was designed throughout this course: Rolling Hills Library In addition, I created a screen cast and instruction sheet about a concept of need (using eBooks online)
- ALA/AASL Standards: 3.1, 3.3, 5.2
- Mobile Prototype: Since my website is not mobile-friendly, I wrote an explanation as to how I would modify it if the opportunity became available.
- ALA/AASL Standards: 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1
- This course strengthened my knowledge in assessing the needs of my patrons in an online environment, as well as creating curricular resources for my staff. One area for development is that I will need to continue to maintain elements of my website and I wish we had further discussion on the idea of keeping information current.
