Puerto Rican Cuisine
¡Hola!¡
Your son or daughter has been invited to be part of a cooking show on a Spanish T.V. station! Well, in our classroom at least. J Students are going to show off their culinary knowledge and write about a recipe of a typical Puerto Rican dish as we have been studying Puerto Rico for the last few weeks. We have already discussed a variety of traditional foods in class, but students are encouraged to research and choose a dish that interests them. Then, they will write the main steps and ingredients in Spanish.
I wanted to let you know that students are not required to actually cook or buy food in order to complete the project. However, many expressed interest in bringing in their dish for a “food fiesta” so they can share their recipe with the class. The project is due on Tuesday, December 22nd, and the celebration would take place on this day.
If your son or daughter chooses and is permitted to bring in food, please be sure the recipe does not contain tree nuts or peanuts due to allergies. There are no other dietary concerns, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
I hope you have a happy and healthy holiday season!
Warm regards,
Ms. Greenspan (Sra. G)
