Dear parents,
Your son or daughter feeling comfortable, challenged, and successful in Spanish class this year is of utmost priority to me. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments throughout the year.
As language skills build upon prior knowledge, it is incredibly important that your child practices Spanish every day at home. I am aware that students juggle many classes and activities during the week; homework is generally designed to take 15-20 minutes a night (may vary if project or test due.) Spending a few minutes outside of school completing a homework task or simply studying vocabulary, will help manage time when preparing for a test.
What can you do to help with HOMEwork? Make sure your son or daughter regularly checks the website. Ask them if they wrote complete answers when working on a homework assignment and reviewed their work. When studying, have them recite vocabulary words to you and translate them. If students are still confused after consulting their notes and the webpage, I encourage them to email me (up until 9pm at night) or they can check in with a buddy. If your child is absent more than a day, he/she should arrange a tutoring session with me outside of class.
I look forward to our correspondence!
