Mind-Blowing Up-Country ELT Training of Trainers Program

posted Mar 2, 2019, 7:31

You don’t feel the time flying when you spend it in something valuable and excellent people. Over the past week I have the up-country teachers, at the CINELTA Training of Trainers (TOT) program, vibrating at the remarkable Riah Werner, English Language Fellow.

We held the CINELTA TOT Cohort 1 from February 25th to March 1st. 5 days when 31 teachers joined the IPNETP Team to receive a training in cutting edge English Teaching practices and workshop organization. The Training was designed by the national teachers’ association CINELTA, with the goal to cascade the new knowledge onto participants’ peers in their respective regions. Out of 31 Regions in Cote d’Ivoire, 24 were represented.

This is the first time from my experience, that a training program has a planned ambition to reach teachers countrywide. 19 other participants will benefit from the same training in the 3rd week of March 2019. I had the opportunity to meet wonderful and engaged up-country teacher participants, with high professional and personal values.

The teachers returned to their respective homes, eager the meet with their peers and share what they learned over the past 5 days in Abidjan. In the Name of Mr. BERTE ZAKARIA, General Director of IPNETP, Mrs. SITA KANGA-DIALLO, head of the IPNETP ESP Center, The CI ELT Team would like to recognize all the partners who made this happen: The Ministry of Education (MENET-FP) and The US Embassy Abidjan. We thank all the participants for their engagement. Our volunteers, TANOH and SORO who came by to help.
