Stranded Brooklyn animals in need of good homes

BROOKLYN - Sandy left many animals throughout Brooklyn without a home. Shelters around the borough are hard at work trying to reunite lost pets with their owners or find them a safe home. Workers at the Charles Henderson Shelter in Windsor Terrace say they are receiving about 20 calls a day about dogs and cats found by volunteers. Dr. Kenneth Humphreys, a veterinarian at One Love Animal Hospital in Boerum Hill, says it is likely that there are more pets out there still trying to find shelter.
