Rajesh P.G.
An enthusiastic youngster with a varied set of experiences and expertise, Anusha Praveen Khan today dreams of being a scientist and entrepreneur in Computational Biology. Anu has a track record in the later, as co-founder of Slashome Technologies in Technopark, one of the well known infrastructure management companies for Data Centers along with her husband when she was 25. Anu was born in Panmana (Kollam), did her BTech in Electronics and Communication from CIT, Coorg (read “Coffee plantations + Orange yards + Beautiful women like Anu), under the Visweswaraiah Technological University, Karnataka. She also had a short stint as lecturer in computer science and electronics engineering before becoming a member of the CBi family. Anu who enjoys the blend of technology and biology is fond of the music of the lashing rain, the silky velvet of moon light and the enigma of green color. Her life is charged continually by her mother, her hubby Praveen S. Khan and her sweet baby Fidal who is a toddler. Anusha loves meeting people, traveling, reading and watching movies. Anu, a professional chef for friends and family is developing a cooking blog. (Compiled by Achu)

Kayamkulam is a small village on the western coast of India in the state of Kerala, washed by the waters of the Arabian Sea, the place is almost equidistant from Alappuzha and Quilon, both of which connect the Kerala backwaters. Kayamkulam is also closely associated with the legend of Kayamkulam Kochunni was a famed highwayman who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. MSc. A batch Kochunni, Rajesh P.G. is from Kayamkulam, completed his schoolings in S.N Central school and M.S.M. School Kayamkulam. He did his graduation in Electronics from IHRD, College of Applied Science, Mavelikara. He was a trainee of GENPACT, India’s Top BPO, launched in Cochin for a while. At present he is doing MSc. Computational Biology programme in Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Kerala. He is a man of silence and always wears a smile on his face. He is very much enthusiastic and also very much motivates others. He is a great fan of “Khadi Board”. He is adept in drawing and paper crafts. He is very fond of children, friends, chocolates, sweets, sugar etc…. he keeps some agendum in his life and likes to follow those strictly. He is interested in coin collection, cycling, reading and listening to music (especially old romantic songs). Being an electronics graduate, his area of interest is cell signaling and E-cell projects. Rajesh, a sugary guy who likes to be a different and enjoy his life with fun and friends. Prem (Prem Krishnan B.V.) is from Palode in Thiruvananthapuram district. Palode, one of the most peaceful, beautiful and eye catching place in Kerala. This place is nurtured and protected by Braimore and Ponmudi hills. Vamanapuram river, which originates from Western Ghats, provides nourishment to this place as it flows through the heart of Palode. Apart from its natural beauty Palode is also known as a hub of research institutions likes Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute (TBGRI), Veterinary Biological Institute (VBI), Oil Palm Research Centre etc. Prem completed his bachelor degree in Computer Science from University of Kerala. He also worked as a Graphic Designer in a software company, Webyfy Infotech, for one and half years. Now he is a member of CBi family doing M.Sc. in Computational Biology. His main hobbies are observing nature, stars, moon, sky and of course butterflies. He is an active member of a non-profit organization, Warblers and Waders Thiruvananthapuram. He loves butterflies as they love him. His inquisitiveness and enthusiasm in nature has leaded him to discover the life cycle, life table etc. of many butterflies including Palm King (this butterfly is not expected to be seen in India, especially in South India. There is an unconfirmed siting report of this butterfly in 1857 from Travencore) and Travencore Evening Brown (for the first time in history Prem Krishnan and his friends have tracked down this rare butterfly and charted its complete life cycle, distribution and status after two years of hard work). Kiran V. Paul from Kannur is currently doing Msc Computatiomal Biology at Centre for Bioinformatics. He has done his schooling at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Kannur. He earned his Bachelors degree in Bioinformatics from IASE, Rajasthan. He is friendly, hardworking, confident and a greatly motivated. Gouri Priya P.G is from Karunagappally, a beautiful place in Kollam district. She spent her school days in G.G.H.S.S, Thazhava. She is a Biotechnology graduate. She took her graduation from S.B.College, Changanacherry. Now she is doing her M.Sc in Computational Biology at Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Kerala,Thiruvananthapuram. Soumya C H born in Erattupetta, one of the most beautiful place in Kottayam. Soumya did her schooling in M.G.H.S.S Erattupetta. She achieved her BCA from MES College Erumely. Presently she is doing MSC in Computational Biology from University of Kerala. She is a sweet, adorable girl who likes to spend her past time in the garden between plants and butterflies. Books are also something which lights her up. She is very open to change as she believes in the phrase ‘change is inevitable’. Good adaptability, which makes her an example of Darwinism. If you believe that “Laughter is the best Medicine” in life, just consult the doctor of laughter, Mr. Sharon G.R. by a walk-in to MSc.Computational Biology class at Centre for Bioinformatics. Sharon is from Kozhikode, the place in the yellow pages of Indian History where Vasco-Da-Gama had his first footprint. He had his schooling from Malabar Christian College Higher Secondary School and achieved his Bachelors in Computer Science from IHRD College of Applied Science, Calicut. His passion for books made him a section officer at Odyssey Bookstall, Calicut for a while. The talented dancer is a member of the dance troop ’Aryans’. His varied interests include football, movies, dancing and drawing. He is a talented voice artist who keeps a watch on everything around him to mimic anybody’s sound in a split of a second.
