Abhilash M.K. hails in Ambalathara, Thiruvananthapuram. He took his B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Govt. Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram and M.Sc in Bioinformatics from National College, Thiruvananthapuram. He is very cool, enjoying and simple person and always trying to make others happy. He takes pride to be a Mammootty fan and always refers him as Bharath Padmasree Megastar Dr. Mammootty. He is also a great fan of Raveendran (Malayalam music director). His hobbies are singing, listening music, playing shuttle, watching films. He got 1st prize in singing in his graduation. As a student he does not like Mathematics and programming. Navya Raj, hailing from Ambalapuzha, Allapuzha Distt. , is not new to this University campus as she is a graduate & postgraduate in Biochemistry from University of Kerala. She is back to Kariavattom campus after six years, which shows her dedication towards studies and good management in her personal life. She is blessed with a loving and supportive husband, Mr.Vinod Nair who is working in Saudi Arabia as a marketing manager and two kids Aakash &, Ankitha . She has experience of working as a Research Analyst in Bioinformatics at Chennai for 3 years. She is a multi-talented person with a great interest in music, painting, embroidery works and mehandi designing. Parul Tyagi
Arun Unni hails from Meloor near Chalakudy in Thrissur district. He has completed Bachelors degree in Botany and Masters degree inBioinformatics from Union Christian College, Aluva and his further aim is to do research in the field of Next Generation Sequencing. He is a very calm and quiet person. He is very friendly and has a helping mentality. Apart from all this, he is greatly interested in music and is a very good flute player. Thumboor Subrahmaniam, Santhosh R L V and Shivkumar Kalyanaraman are his gurus in music. He has been learning music for about six years. His father who is a Band Musician is his first guru and his greatest inspiration. He has an elder sister and also an elder brother working in Accel IT solutions (Compiled by Silpa S.)
Arun Kumar B.
Parul Tyagi, a person with always a smile on her face hails from Faridabad (NCR), a city in the south-east of Haryana state in northern India. She did graduation in Biology from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and post graduation in bioinformatics from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. She worked as a lecturer in bioinformatics for 3 years and has done a short research project from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is always cool and cooperative. She is a person with positive attitude and believes that every problem has many solutions. She belongs to a happy joint family thus loves to be in group. Parveen Sadotra
Parveen Sadotra is from Jammu which is also known as City of Temples. He always has a smile on his face. He did his M.C.A from University of Jammu. He is having a diploma in Cyber Law, and certification as Cyber Crime Analyst. Apart from that he is a certified ethical hacker. He loves music and has very great interest in sports. Arun Kumar B hails from Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram. He is very simple, talkative person He mingles with all types of personalities very easily. His interesting hobbies are reading, writing essays, and travelling, searching new things. He is very good story teller .His interested research area is Anticancer Drug discovery. His ability to make and ask questions is very appreciable. He had done his B.Sc in Chemistry with Industrial Chemistry from Govt. Priyadarsini.P, a cool girl, hails from Kollam. Her native place is a small village near Madurai, “Temple City & City of Jasmines”. She has pleasing and attractive character. She is simple, friendly and talkative. She has completed her B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Sree Narayana College, Kollam and M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from M.K University. She is very confident in her work. She is very much interested in Phylogenetic Analysis and Drug Discovery. She is very hard working and strongly determined. Deepthi Varughese is from Pampady, Kottayam district. Her husband Sibi is a business man and she has a small daughter Diya. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in physics from K.G College and Master's in Bioinformatics from Madras University. She has working experience as a Research Assistant in IISc, Bangalore and also as Bio-modeling scientist in CellworksResearch India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. As a person she is very friendly, helpful and also hard working. She is a simple girl with a smile in her face always. Her hobbies include trekking, watching cinema and listening to music. She uses the word "enna" several times a day, a typical "kottayam achayathi". She is a person who likes changes always and that’s why she is interested in science and technology the most, which keeps on changing and getting updated. Surbhi Mittra is from Delhi the "City of Monuments". She belongs to a sweet traditional family in North. Lekshmi Asok B. belongs to Trivandrum Dist. and she is blessed with a very good family life. Her beloved husband, Mr. Biju is software professional in Dubai and she has a daughter, Ishana who is just 2 and 1/2 yrs 'kutty'.Lekshmi is a Biotech post-graduate (from Bharatiyar University) and she holds a graduate degree in Biotech from Kollam S.N. College, Kerala University. After her post graduation she was working in administrative section in a Pvt. Firm in Dubai for 1 year. But since she was really interested in science she came back and joined for the M.Phil Bioinformatics programme. Basically she aims at teaching profession and her research interest are Genomics and proteomics. Her other interests are reading books, listening to music and traveling.
