• USAF T SGT>Cheryl ANN Ferguson  Turnage- April 3,1996 -age 38 buried at Arlington national cemeteryTech Sergeant Turnage was killed in the April 3, 1996 crash of a United States Air Force Boeing CT-43A on an official trade mission. It crashed as it approached Dubrovnik, Croatia. The plane was carrying 35 people on board, including Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown and The New York Times Frankfurt bureau chief Nathaniel C. Nash. She and 33 other passengers were killed. The only survivor, Air Force Technical Sergeant Shelly Kelly, died en route to the hospital. A large stainless steel cross was erected as a memorial on Stražišæe peak. A memorial room located in the Ronald Brown memorial house in the old city of Dubrovnik features photographs of all the crash victims.
