The Central Regional Alumni Association is very proud of the many accomplishments we have completed in the eighteen years since our inception.
Through our Alumni Tree Initiative, sixty nine class trees have been planted and sixty nine class plaques have been installed for each of the graduating classes of Central Regional High School .
With the assistance of the C.R. guidance department, we have hosted Alumni Career Days.
Our members have been involved in three Relay for Life events.
Operation Trophy Case Project has built 3 new trophy cases and reinstalled the vintage banners in our B Gym.
With the help of our Alumni Database, we have been able to assist with class reunions and communicate with alumni to keep them aware of both CRAA events and current information in the Central Regional community. We have established the CRAA website which is linked to the CRHS website.
Over $30,000 in Scholarships have been awarded to graduating seniors.
In 2008 we inaugurated our Annual Craa Golf Tournament. We have had ten tourneys with graduates from over thirty classes in participation.
For the past seven years, we have run the All Alumni Night, an informal get together of all classes. This night has been a great success. We have seen entire families attend from varying classes.
We are presently involved in the M. Peryl King Distinguished Alumni Awards, and hope to be making some new presentations in the near future. With our involvement, there has been a reinstallation of plaques for all past distinguished alumnus.
As part of the Alumni Art Initiative, our Project Playbill has installed thirty four poster sized paintings representing plays that have been produced here at C.R. They were generously painted by students and alumni. Also, with the inspiration of the donated art by Steven Fragale, we have expanded the Art in the Media Center, by adding paintings by three more well known alumni artists. We been able to save props from some of our plays to liven up the ground area of the media center.
Other fundraisers have included a “Central Night at the Blue Claws” , an Oktoberfest to benefit the Special Olympics program here at C.R., and the Big 50/50 raffle where tickets cost $100 each, with a maximum of 100 sold. The tickets are on sale from January through May and the winner is pulled at our annual golf outing. Recently, we have funded the remastering of tapes that have been found of some of our older football games into CD form. We have also sponsored the project by the media center to bring the past yearbooks to life on our web site. Our Community Garden has been producing herbs for local restaurants and our fiveother Adopt a Spots help to beautify the campus. We have been regular sponsors of the JROTC, the Special Olympics and the drama program here at Central.
