This figure is also called Shuttles and Orbits or simply Shuttles. The figures below are both Irish adaptations of Shuttles and Orbits from the English Country Dance Picking of Sticks using the Telescope figure.
For Six (Triple minor proper, centers reversed, 16 bars)
(2) Middle man and his opposite (middle) woman lead the Telescope with the couple on his Left. The couple left out casts to the bottom (other end) of the set.
(2) All dance 1/2 turn by the Right with this same person.
(4) Repeat to place, same couples do the Telescope, but the other couple leads the Telescope.
(8) Middles lead another Telescope but with the other couple; the couple on the man's Right; again the odd couple out casts

For Six (Triple minor proper, centers reversed, 16 bars)
A variant on the above figure called Shuttles can also be substituted for the third figure of the Hallucination Jig. Shuttles was the original third figure to Hallucination, and was replaced with Rights and Lefts around 2005. The notes for this figure are below.
Centers and the corner couple to center gent's right do a Telescope Kiss, with the centers splitting the other couple first. (The Telescope Kiss is the same as a normal Telescope, except couples kiss instead of turning each other.) Meanwhile, the dancers left out pull past each other by the right and dance (using the traveling step) around the whole set, returning to their home spots. (They pass by right shoulders when they meet on the opposite side of the set.) This takes 8 bars.
This is repeated, with the two corner couples exchanging roles. That is the centers do a Telescope Kiss with the corner couple to center gent's left, splitting the corner couple first, while the other couple dances around the set. This also takes 8 bars. (Patrick Morris)
