Probably going to have annual CBC Picnic

Traditionally a potluck, but this year, due to COVID,

bring your own folding chair and food

We will spread out on the lawn

Bring binoculars to bird afterwards

Two Expenditure Votes

1. Up to $1,200 for fencing (etc) to protect native plants at Renwick

2. $3,000 for Motus Tower on Mt. Pleasant

Club balance is over $30,000.

Club annual operating budget is under $4,000.

1. Fencing for Native Plants, $1200

CAC is clearing plots of invasives and planting natives

Without fencing, native seedlings are eaten by rabbits etc.

Est. $300 per plot

Up to four plots for the summer (ambitious goal)

Should the Club allocate $300 per plot, up to four plots (max $1200), to protect native seedlings to be planted this summer?

Motion is passed 41 to 0.

2.Motus Tower at Mt. Pleasant, $3000

Club is planning second Motus tower

Location is Mt. Pleasant (on Cornell land), awaiting Cornell approval

Est. cost is $2100, prices may be increasing so proposal is $3,000 to cover increase

Detect both NanoTags and LifeTags

Should the Club allocate $3000 to spend on its second Motus tower, to be placed at Mt. Pleasant, if approved by Cornell?

Motion is passed 40 to 0
