About the Yard of the Month Program - Nominate a Yard
The Bella Vista Garden Club is promoting and rewarding exemplary yard care in Bella Vista and recognizes neighbors who demonstrate above-average efforts in maintaining their property, which contributes to the overall appearance of the community at large.
All homes and businesses in Bella Vista are eligible. Nominations are for the front and side yards jointly. One yard is chosen each month by members of BVGC who chose the yard that best exemplifies uniqueness, beauty and curb appeal.

JUNE - Yard of the Month 2021

Congratulations to Jeremy and Michelle Clarke who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. Jeremy and Michelle are originally from Iowa but have lived in Bella Vista for 20 years. Jeremy works from home and has his own recruiting and consulting business for architects and engineers. Michelle is the designer and installer while Jeremy helps with the heavy lifting. They both take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front approach. There is a beautiful side yard with plenty of trees forming a beautiful oasis with a bench and even an outdoor chandelier placed perfectly to enjoy the view. The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Jeremy and Michelle, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!

MAY - YARD of the MONTH 2021
Steve and Nancy Menhennett
Congratulations to Steve and Nancy Menhennett of 5 Haverigg Lane who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. Steve and Nancy are originally from Louisiana and Texas but have lived in Bella Vista since 2004. Nancy is a long time friend of Lou Jasper who is a Master Gardener/BV Garden Club member. Nancy and Lou both worked at the Sunshine School for many years. Nancy is proud to say that most of the plants in her yard are from the Garden Club. She started with small starts and has nourished and divided them over the years to form themes and splashes of color throughout the year. Steve is the designer and starts by laying out a garden hose to create a design tweaking it until it gets just like they want it and then creates beautiful garden vignettes throughout their property. Nancy loves all her flowers, especially her daisies and Steve is very fond of their rain lilies.They both take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front approach and beautiful side yard with plenty of trees forming a beautiful oasis with a bench placed perfectly to enjoy the view. The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Steve and Nancy, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!
APRIL - YARD of the MONTH 2021
Bill and Anna Harris
Congratulations to Bill and Anna Harris of 2 Kirk Circle, BV 72715 who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. Bill and Anna are originally from Texas but have been in BV for over 20 years. Anna says that she has always loved plants and creating a beautiful yard anywhere they have ever lived. She is a trained Master Gardener and most of her plants were given to her by family or friends. They both take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front approach and beautiful side yard especially in the Spring with plenty of daffodils, vinca ground cover and plenty of trees forming a beautiful oasis with a bench placed perfectly to enjoy the view. The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Bill and Anna, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!
OCTOBER - Yard of the Month 2020
Congratulations to Ginny Vance & her spouse Dieter Schoreit of 5 Glencoe Lane, Bella Vista 72715 who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. They moved here from Nebraska about three years ago and love their new home! Ginny is retired from the phone company and is very happy to be working in her yard and garden. She is an Iowa Master Gardener who is working on transferring to the Arkansas program. Dieter helps with the mowing and heavy lifting with Ginny doing the design, moving and transplanting as needed. Their biggest challenge now is dealing with the rocky Bella Vista soil. In addition, they have done a fabulous job of re-inventing their home inside and out. They take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front, side and a backyard full of birds, plants, and a lovely sitting area with a firepit – a true oasis! The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Ginny and Dieter, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!

SEPTEMBER - Yard of the Month 2020
Congratulations to Calvin & Terinda Evanoff of 92 Forfar Dr., Bella Vista 72715 who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. They moved here from Miami about two years ago and love their new home! Calvin is retired from American Airlines. He and Terinda now work together running a consulting business from their home. Calvin conducts business each morning from his front porch armed with breakfast and his phone while watching the beautiful view he has created with Loch Lomond in the background. Each section of the yard features native pollinator plants tropical plants, and tall pines with several seating areas and beautiful winding walkways. There is even a serenity area in the works for the side yard under the pines. They both take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front, side and a backyard full of birds, plants and nature. AUGUST - Yard of the Month 2020
Congratulations to Jay and Francine Lacy of 6 Guilford Dr, BV 72714. who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. Jay and Francine are originally from Kansas though Jay, who plays golf several times a week, has been in BV for over 20 years. They are newlyweds since November 2019! They both take great pride in their yard and have a lovely front, side and a backyard full of birds, plants and nature. The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Jay and Francine, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!
JULY - Yard of the Month 2020
Congratulations to Gayle and Bob Hilgart at 10 Deddington Dr, BV 72714. who have been selected as the Bella Vista Garden Club Yard of the Month. They both take great pride in their yard and have created a sight to behold! According to Gayle, Bob had the vision for the front yard, and she helped make it happen. They also have a beautiful space in their back yard which is so inviting. Gayle says “Anytime I get to work outside in God’s creation, I’m incredibly blessed!” The Bella Vista Garden Club thanks you, Gayle and Bob, for yet another example of a well-kept yard and helping to keep Bella Vista beautiful year-round!
