Card Party

The 11th Annual
...was held Friday, March 17th and was a great success with great food and fun for all.

What a party we had. Fabulous table decorations, thanks to all who contributed. Great food, thanks to all who delivered. And how about that army of volunteers, all focused, all smiling, all busy. I still don't know how Val Coulter recruited. My theory is, she promised them all a trip to Hawaii. Great job, Val.

Did I mention we made $2,187 for our scholarship fund.

First Robin of Spring Workshop - Huge Success

posted Feb 28, 2017, 3:50 PM by Phoebe Garden   [ updated Mar 4, 2017, 9:32 AM by BVGC Garden Club ]

February 28, 2017

As many of you know on February 28,2017, we hosted the First Robin of Spring Workshop featuring Garden Club motivator Robin Pokorski at NWACC.  Robin and her husband, Gregg, came from California for the workshop which was attended by approximately 67 attendees from 12 different garden organizations and 10 Arkansas Cities. Co-hosts for the event were the Garden Club of Rogers and the Benton County Master Gardeners. Twenty eight, or so, of those participating were from our our BVGC. Also in attendance was Rose Knight our President of Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs.

The workshop started with coffee and pastries at 8:30 a.m., first presentation at 9:00 a.m., a break for lunch at noon followed by another two and a half hour session.  Robin was presented two wine glasses hand painted with robins by our talented artist, Barb Templin as a token of our appreciation.

It is my hope, and the hope of all who contributed that much was to be brought back, and will be utilized and shared with the individual clubs.  The Bella Vista Garden Club has been and is now even more, respected among Garden Clubs throughout the State.

None of this would not have been possible without  the help of JB Portillo, Geri Hoerner, Linda Nemeyer, Barb Templin, Alycyn Culbertson, Cathy Downard, and Dorothy Sandoval from our ranks and Burnie Ott of the Rogers club.

The world is revolving, if we stand still we're falling behind,

Tony LiCausi

BVGC Pres.
