General - Katmai National Park
Known for the bears feeding on salmon at Brooks Camp Katmai National Park in probably the most popular of the Fly-In parks. It is also known for it's recent volcanic activity and a visit from Brooks Camp can also be made to the nearby Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes.
Scheduled tours are available from Anchorage and King Salmon to Brooks Camp. Visitor Center and cabins at Brooks Camp. Bear viewing and the Ten Thousand Smokes tour are the popular attractions.
Access to Brooks Camp is accomplished by tour operators out of King Salmon. Cabins at Brooks Camp and 2 main tours - Bears and Valley of 10,000 smokes
The EN passport stamp is at the King Salmon Visitor Center next to the King Salmon Airport. The Visitor Center is not within Park or Preserve boundaries. Air Taxis must be taken to the 5 surrounding units.

Brooks Camp Visitor Center is within the designated National Park. King Salmon is outside both the National Park and National Preserve boundaries. Katmai National Preserve is designated in the northern portion of Katmai. Everything else, including the Valley of 10,000 Smokes and the entire Pacific coastline is designated Katmai National Park.

General - Katmai National Preserve
The Katmai National Preserve unit of the Katmai National Park is located in the northeast corner of the park. It is a popular place for fishermen and hunters and several commercial lodges are located within the Preserve unit.
The Alagnak River borders and is easily combined with a Fly-In to the Preserve unit. Many fisherman on the Nonvianuk River at mouth of Nonvianuk Lake so pilots are well familiar with the area. Also a Patrol cabin there.
