General - Katmai National Preserve

The Katmai National Preserve unit of the Katmai National Park is located in the northeast corner of the park. It is a popular place for fishermen and hunters and several commercial lodges are located within the Preserve unit.

The Alagnak River borders and is easily combined with a Fly-In to the Preserve unit. Many fisherman on the Nonvianuk River at mouth of Nonvianuk Lake so pilots are well familiar with the area. Also a Patrol cabin there.
