Graduation Ceremony - Kathy
Graduation, end of education?
November Twenty-First a bright day it is,
A day which will forever stay in the hearts of hers and his.
Why is it so special?
Coz' it marks the day of our graduation
The end of the 4-year education!
So we should all yell 'hip hip hurray'
To welcome this very day.
Smartly dressed in gown of black.
And see what's put around the neck?
A matching colour hood with a purple stripe
To indicate we're a member of the science 'tribe'.
And of course mortar-boards on our heads
But how about the tassel, right or left, you guess?
Another game for you to play
That may turn your hair from black to gray
Is to use a bit of your talent
To match the students with their parents.
But everywhere is crowded with dads and moms.
It's hard to tell who are whose sons!
Ceremony begins
With 'god save the queen'.
(How about deng xiaoping?
Hasn't he got any sin?)
Let's not bother about 'his internal affairs'
So as to keep us from having nightmares.
The first one to go up the stage is not from cphk
But rather our honarary degree recipient, sir lee quo-wei.
A long speech has he prepared,
Luckily we are not standing but seated in a chair.
CS is the third department to come
It's time for us to have fun.
Watch the steps
Or else you will say to yourself, 'rats'.
Mind your manner
Or else your mom will hit you with a hammer.
Remember to bow to sir wilson
Or else you will become a very awkward one.
Be careful not to fall off the stage
Or else nothing can help even you fly into a rage.
We are not yet done until the governor has declared us to be
Graduates of bachelor of science in computer studies.
We can then wear out mortar-boards
But watch out when you try to nod.
Ceremony ends When gone have all the gangs.
Crowds gather in the courtyard again.
Fortunately, there isn't any rain.
And what's up this time?
Photo-taking of all kinds!
First with the parents, of course
Then with relatives and friends of all sorts.
How about a class photo?
Oh, by the way, is your camera manual or auto?
Seventy something guys and gals
Who have become very good pals,
Standing, kneeling and squatting,
All ready for photo-taking.
Cameras here and cameras there,
Our eyes have to look to everywhere.
Coming next is a very difficult task
Is to take photo with everyone in the class.
If you succeed to get the majority
Try your best To get the rest.
Accompanying the setting of the sun Is leaving one by one
But hope your memories will last forever, Forever.
