One, Two, Three, Four. We have already known each other for four years. Though we came from different schools, different families and had different backgrounds, we still got along well. We were like brothers and sisters even though City Poly was not our parents (mostly speaking).
When we stepped in City Poly, we were all strangers to one another but now it was very different. How could such great change be possible? Our Class Association really played an important role.
I remembered that our "baby" was born in October of 1986 and the growth of it was a great task for us all. What should we do then? Yes, the Constitution. Could you remember it? We really tried our great effort on this. Discussion, drafting, again discussing, making amendments -- were all time-consuming jobs. It totally spent us six months to finish the job. Why was the Constitution so important to us? Because it was our club's birth certificate. It was a sign of existence for the Association, and was the directives for operating the Association.
Time passed by and our 'baby' grew up. It discarded most of its formalism and appeared as an informal adult. There were pros and cons about this change. Though the Association became less formal, it functioned more efficiently and less time-consuming as time was very precious to all of us. Even so, we still tried our best to play our roles wholeheartedly. And you could notice that in preparation of this Yearbook.
Another important change was the PDCS-to-BScCS conversion. The conversion happened in Year Two, 87-88. During the transition from PDCS to BScCS, we were not just BScCS but we were PDCS too. I said this because only if we took the two CSs together could it be possible to explain us being the members of PDCS-BScCS(86-90) Class Association. Furthermore, 5421 was also unique to us. The course code for BScCS have been changed to 54401 from 5421 shortly after we graduated in 1990. There was and would be one and only one batch of 5421 graduates in CPHK. We were the unique bridge from PDCS to BScCS.
From PDCS to BScCS, from the Mongkok Argyle Centre to the Kowloon Tong permanent campus, from a three-year course to a four-year course, we experienced all these changes. Yet our Class Association stood firm on her feet, with all of you, witnessing all the changes and came to save the day when there was a call for help.
After all, your support and participation were the driving force behind the Class Association. And because of your support, the Class Association would surive till the next century.
