January 2010—December 2010:

Community Service: A big part of Scouting!

Earn this patch by doing a community service project with your den, pack,

patrol, troop, crew, post, or family. Patches may be purchased at the Scout

Shop starting February 1, 2010, for $3.00 each.

Scouting on Parade: Let all communities in Northern Michigan know how

great and important Scouting is! Earn this patch by participating in a community event to increase the

awareness of Scouting in your community. Ideas: March in a parade with your unit, put together an informational booth at a community festival or event, do a window display at a store in your community

celebrating Scouting, get a local Scouting event in the newspaper or on the TV news, anything else your group could think of to raise the awareness of Scouting in your community. Patches may be purchased

at the Scout Shop starting February 1, 2010, for $3.00 each.

January 2010—March 2010:

Jack Frost Jamboree: Winter Activity in our Winter Wonderland! Earn this patch by participating in a den, pack, patrol, troop, crew, post or family winter event during January, February, or March. Boy Scouts will be

having a council wide Jack Frost Jamboree (Klondike Derby) on Saturday, February 6th in Cadillac, hosted by the River Trails District. The registration cost for this event will include this patch which is in the shape of the 5 counties that make up River Trails. The Cub Winter Event in Traverse City will also have this patch included in a

registration fee. Patches may be purchased at the Scout Shop starting February 1, 2010, for $3.00 each.

April 2010-October 2010

Cache to Eagle: Geocaching, Scouting, Technology and the Future! Earn this patch by finding 3 cards at Eagle Project sites in your District. Northern Trails District: Antrim, Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, & Otsego, Counties

Bay Trails District: Kalkaska, Grand Traverse, & Leelanau Counties River Trails District: Benzie, Manistee, Missaukee, Osceola, & Wexford Counties You can also earn this patch by putting on a “Get in the Game” Geocach Recruiting Event. Patches may be purchased at the Scout Shop starting April 1, 2010, for

$3.00 each.

April 30, 2010-May 2, 2010

Show N Do: Let’s show Northern Michigan what Scouting is all about! Earn this patch by attending the Show N Do at the Traverse City Fairgrounds which will be hosted by Bay Trails District. The registration cost for this event

will include this patch which is in the shape of the 3 counties that make up Bay Trails. Boy Scouts and Webelos will be camping for the weekend and Cub Scouts will be invited for the day and into the evening for unbelievable Scouting fun and a Scouting show with fireworks!

June 2010-August 2010

Camp Greilick: Scouting Adventures since 1925! Our North Star! Earn this patch by attending any of our Camp Greilick adventures. The patch will be included in the registration fee. Events include: NYLT, Parent and Pal

Weekend, Cub Scout Day Camp, Boy Scout Week Long Camp, & Webelos Adventure Camp. Adults you are not attending camp can purchase a patch by visiting camp. They will be available at the camp trading post.

September 2010-November 2010

Popcorn 2010: Fund your Adventures through popcorn!

Earn this patch by selling popcorn in Council’s 2010 popcorn sale. Fund your

whole year of Scouting Adventure by setting a goal for the popcorn sale.

Adults can earn this patch by donating to the Council’s “Friends of Scouting

Campaign.

October 1, 2010-October 3, 2010

Fall Camporee: Fall Fun in the Sun! Earn this patch by attending the Fall Camporee which will be hosted by Northern Trails District. The registration cost for this event will include this patch which is in the shape of the 5 counties that make up Northern Trails. Boy Scouts will be camping for the weekend and Cub Scouts will be invited for the day.
