OCTOBER 15-17, 2010 | E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park
The Lincoln Heritage Council is proud to announce and encourage all of our programs and neighboring Scouting programs to MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND ATTEND THE LHC CENTENNIAL JAMBOREE, to be held October 15-17, 2010 at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
The goal of this event is to serve as a commemorative celebration of Scouting’s past and our exciting future. This is being promoted and expected to be the largest event that the Lincoln Heritage Council has ever seen. We are anticipating over 10,000 local Scouts and families to be a part of this historic event.
We are going to have activities that will inspire and challenge our Scouts. We will have the opportunity for all of our Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers to take part in activities and work towards their advancements. The committee is well underway in planning this exciting event with the goal of everyone experiencing an event like no other the Lincoln Heritage Council has ever held – and they are off to a great start.
Additional information will be available in the weeks to come, with registration packets being available at the Council Program Preview Meeting on May 7th, 2010. If you or your Scouting Program would like to volunteer for this event please contact Greg Wells, LHC Centennial Jamboree Chairman
NOTE LHC CENTENNIAL JAMBOREE BOY SCOUT TROOP PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY:
Would your troop like to be a part of this historic event? Would you like to promote your troop to thousands of potential Cub Scouts and families? Does your troop have the ability to set up a hands on, creative, exciting Pioneering Project (ie. catapult, tower, monkey bridge, etc.)? If you answered yes to these questions, we would like for you to contact Ben Vonderscmitt at bvonders@gmail.com or David Sikes at 361-2624 ext.3027 or email david.sikes@scouting.org.
